Need help avoiding Lake Charles I-10 bridge

I am going to Texas next week by car. Does anyone know how to avoid the I-10 bridge in Lake Charles? I'd rather not go over it for safety reasons. Thanks!

You think it’s your car that will finally put it out of its misery?
Take 210.

Unfortunately you’re only option is to go north to I20 and cross in Shreveport.

Exit Cities Service Hwy. go north until you hit Old Spanish Trail. Go north on 378 into Moss Bluff, which will turn back East. Turn right on Hwy 171 and it’ll take you to I-10. Volia

Why don’t you just take the 210 bypass??

I thought it was Vinton.

Wat? This is the only stretch of that drive that scares you?

Congrats on the endless drive through road construction

Take the Lake Charles Ferry. It's only 2.00 and is supercool.

I will add, stop at “heaven on earth” bbq on the way. And B+O’s for boudin. If taking that route.

Is it still around? Does Mossville still exist? Or is it all Sasol plant now?

I don't believe that's correct.

I am a vegetarian. :) But thanks for the advice.

You are joking, but there is a ferry across the Calcasieu in Cameron parish, and she could drive to Port Arthur from there. Then again, if she has to go across the Bridge in Port Arthur (if the same bridge from back in the day), it’s “scarier” than the Lake Charles bridge.
