1000000% this. I have learned my lesson. I can load the can down with 500 lbs of bricks (don't ask me how I know) and they'll take it if the lid is closed.

But if it's carboard boxes my wife didn't break down, with a bag on top, leaving the lid just barely ajar - it'll get skipped every time.

It missed the pool of hydraulic fluid and oozing garbage liquids under the truck.

Every house in Baton Rouge has an oil spot on the road in front where the garbage cans are staged.

It’s absolutely infuriating. The whole thing about them picking up something outside of the can is an even bigger joke. Typical BR bull, I don’t get worked up anymore cause my blood pressure would be perpetually double thinking about the incompetency of BR.

Hahahaha. I try to do the same. But I can't help myself.

The incompetency and corruption of local political leaders is enough to piss off a priest. I live in BR because of jobs for me and my wife, but damn, I wish I could uproot and move somewhere with competent leadership.

I may not like the new rules but at least my water bill is now over $100/month.

I mean other places fine your arse for not recycling or bagging all of your trash.

They’d make bank in Nola. But it would also prob be deemed racist.

This is just going to cause more illegal trash dumping in our city. Some folks will make the effort and pay the fee to get mattresses, furniture and other bulk items removed. Other will dump them where ever they can.

Richard’s disposal was awarded the bulk contract. They will use rear loaders and hoppers.

The days of the boom trucks picking up bull are gone.

As far as big items I just bring it to North Landfill.

Company that delivered my new washer and dryer wanted to charge $50 per appliance. $200 when you count the pedestals on front loaders, the washer, and dryer. Took me 1 hr to load up appliances, drive to landfill, dump items in their appliance pile, and drive home.

As an EBRP resident to use the landfill, you need your water bill and driver’s license. It is open on Saturdays. They give you two free dumps per month. Most people will not do this.

I agree though we will see more illegal garbage dumping around the parish.

These two seem to be an issue. Do they not still use the big trucks with the claw?

Or do the taxpayers now have to pay tree removal companies to remove their debris over 6" in diameter?

This is for normal trash day pick up. I you have more than that, they will mobilize the claw truck. It just may take a while like always.

Incorrect, they will not have boom trucks known as the big truck with the claw.

They are using all rear loafers with hoppers for Bulk starting in Sept 2023. That is why the weight & length new rules are in effect.

Anything bigger will be the homeowners responsibility to haul off.

Storm debris is under a different contract which goes out to a restoration company that has bigger trucks for this type service.

I'll believe that when I see it.

Also, it reads to me that people with mattresses, furniture, appliances, etc. over 40 lbs, are shite out of luck.

Sure, we can bring them ourselves to the landfill, but that's not very practicable for people without a truck and/or trailer.
