Both have 33 murders this year as of April 21. The Nola numbers include the 14 victims of the New Years terrorist attack. Seems BR has been getting more violent while Nola has been getting less so.

The superbowl focus and cleanup has probably kept the New Orleans numbers down some. Lots of extra police in the area.

I’ll take your word for it

But tbh - we thought about Mid-City New Orleans then, too.

Bussing, Katrina, and the 2016 flood really messed up BR.

The big drop in murders started last summer due to three things mainly.
The state police came in and hunted down some of the worst criminals.
The DA finally got his head out of his arse and is starting to do his job.
NOPD staffing rose a little.

Nola exported a lot of its trash back in 2005.

NOLA crime has always gotten more attention but BR has been extremely violent for many years hopefully Coach Sid can do something about it

Add in project Nola camera system which has been very active with the NOPD

Not really, it got worse after Katrina but before that the violence was mild and just concentrated in certain neighborhoods. Now it's everywhere and getting more egregious

Landry made NO crime a priority. A lot can be said about some of the other stuff he did, but one thing he got right was doing the State Police unit that is focused on NO.

Oh it will be another record breaking year. You should listen to the music these Black kids listen to .... that coupled with their horrible childhood .... there's honestly no hope. Any Christian pyscho saying there's hope is on drugs. They all need to be exterminated and locked up ... only answer b/c they won't stop producing kids they can't afford and refuse to raise with good morals and values
