How does the OT do it? Flying to a three day meeting, don't want to wear a suit coat on the plane.

Should I put clothes in a hanging garment bag and hang in the plane?

Pack suit and clothes in a hard sided suit case?

Going is non stop so hanging it may be an option, trip back involves changing planes though.

Dude I travel weekly pack the whole thing and touch it up with iron in hotel. If you take your shirts to cleaners have them fold them for future travel they work much better.

I always just checked my garment bag. Never had a issue with suits looking wrinkled as long as I hung everything up once I got to my hotel.

If you don't want to trust the hotel iron you could also invest in a little portable steamer. If you are OK with it taking up luggage space.

Just take each dress shirt and fold the sleeves in neatly. Fold them all together and put in a dry clean plastic bag. Then do the same for the suit but a separate bag. Then tri fold it from the top first then bottom over the hanger. Place it neatly in your suit case over the other clothes and zip it up. When you get to the hotel hang it up. It’ll fall out and be perfect. Sometimes I have to touch up iron the shirts but never the suit.

Turn the shower up hot, hang your clothes on the towel rack, close the door, come back in 15 minutes.

Did this at a hotel back during Covid. Ended up forgetting about it and left the shower running all day. No maid service, so it ran about 12 hours. Entire room was dripping with condensation by the time I got back.

Wow, I read that wrong, and my reply wouldn't have made any sense at all because you aren't really packing suits for a "fight", that would just be silly.

May be too late for you now but they do sell Traveler Suits now. Fold neatly into suitcase and hang when you get to your room.
When you put it on the next morning it is just like coming from the cleaners.
Shirts too but I always touched those up with an iron. Became very competent with an iron.

The best way is to not fold the clothes but roll them up. Usually no wrinkle problems.

I carry my hanging clothes bag onto the flight. Check the bag for everything else.

If my checked luggage gets lost, at least I can get by with the hanging clothes.

For button downs and slacks, I use a pack-it folder. Put your shoes in shoe sacs, you don't want any amount of polish to end up on anything. For the suit jacket, I just fold the left front and right front backwards (so the lining is facing out. That way, when I hang them right side out at the hotel, any creases that formed will esentiallly hang themselves out.

A hard sided suitcase is probably detrimental, it lacks flexibility and "give." People also tend to overpack the shite out of them, which compresses everything inside, which causes any wrinkles to be much more severe. Pack whatever suitcase you use a bit lightly.

I pack them in my hard side carryon inside the bags they came with. Bring my hand steamer with and steam out the wrinkles at the hotel room.

I think the next time I travel with a suit, I'm going to bring along a Dryel bag and sheet. Stick it in the hotel dryer for 15 minutes, and the wrinkles should be gone.

Dryel on Amazon

I use them at home all the time, so it should work.

Regular suitcase — I have ballistic nylon

Pop one shoulder of the coat inside out and fold the other side into it and then fold the coat in half

Folding pants are straight forward

If need be, hang in bathroom or hotel with door close with shower as hot as possible for ~10 minutes and the steam will help
