The national Phi Delta Theta organization has removed the charter from the Beta Chapter at LSU.

...

According to the organization's statement, the investigation uncovered enough information to conclude that some chapter members were in violation of risk management policies including the alcohol-free housing policy.

This means there is no shot of them returning to campus. LSU wouldn't have allowed it anyway, we all know they were getting the boot, but it appears their national headquarters won't even let the decision get to LSU's hands.

Were they any good at LSU? They're pretty bad in most places I've seen.

Either way, you need the bad fraternities to work as a filter for the good ones.

Wow. What a legacy for these guys.
What a shame. Bunch of morons killed a guy.
There should be criminal consequences.

They were very small if that's what you are asking.

They sucked, which is probably part of how this incident came to be. The shitty chapters trying to imitate what they thought good chapters did to their pledges, but because they're losers, they just frick it up while trying to be TFM stars.

That makes sense. We saw the same thing at UT. Shitty fraternities would go overboard to make it seem more exclusive. This is after they would hand out bids to any swinging dick who walked into their house. Everyone hazes balls, but some fraternities go too far and try too hard.

Agreed. It hasn't even been a week yet. I'm sure it's hellish trying to get any of them to talk, too. Knowing Hillar, he'll try to stick them with something if he can.

That's pretty much spot on. It's like virgins trying to teach you how to frick. It's not going to go well, despite what they think they know.

I'll hold my judgement until they officially release something but if the stories I've heard and screen shots of Snapchat are true then some people are fricked. I did plenty of dumb things when I was in college but never purposely put a friend in danger

This was pretty much a given IMHO.

With a death involved and it being fairly clear the chapter was violating nationals' official rules on booze, they would always voluntarily pull the charter in order to recolonize in 5-10 years as opposed to having the charter revoked by the school which would present a problem to coming back at some point.

It Nationals was going to back a chapter being screwed with by a school it wasn't going to be a bunch of chuckleheads who just had a pledge drink themselves to death.

Will this group of rent-a-friends continue to call themselves brothers?

What have you heard? If you don't mind hinting at it, of course.

And the SnapChat connection is just mind-boggling to me. How anybody allows for cell phones to even be in the room for this shite is beyond comprehension. That's rule #1.

This was just a matter of time. An alcohol related death in an on campus fraternity house guarantees it essentially

Rule #1 is that you don't force people to drink.

Sorry, I haven't been following the case.
But, just quickly, did his death involve something more than the typical shenanigans involving frats and alcohol as seen on every campus, every weekend?
