100% correct. He never wore anything other than simple white. Skipped all the horse shite Catholic leader bling. Lived in a dorm. In Argentina he took the bus and cooked his own meals. Even now he asked not to be buried in the basilica but instead cathedral of Mary. He said no frills. He wants his grave marked with super simple "Franciscus".

The guy was humble and sincere to the end. He asked the priests to view the church as a refuge to the tired, poor and sick.

I'm not Catholic but I very much admire the man. He lived the tenants of Christ teaching. RIP to a great man.

Odd to assign net worth to what could very, very loosely be described as perks.

Perks he got as the head of state of a sovereign nation.

Then quit being vague and say exactly which sect of Protestantism you practice. Why are you scared to say it?

Except Vatican City. Try staying there past closing time.

It turned into a gay nightclub most nights. I'm no fan of the corporate Catholic Church. But I admired Bergoglio

Keep in mind the basis of "net worth" inside the Vatican State is probably different than here.

Most of the assets of the Vatican are beyond pricing, even if someone tried. What's the worth of the Sistine Chapel? Or their Secret Archives?

Tell us the name of the church that you attend. We might like to convert to it, if we knew more about it.
