Looking for recommendations. Any of you running a nice setup for detecting/jamming?

In before…”Just slow down”.

K40 Laser Defuser - Says that it works with most of their detectors

Escort - Laser Jammer with shifting technology

The Escort stuff looks to be a little more advanced, but is also more $$$.

Thoughts?

Nowadays Waze gets it done without all that stuff.

Nice for the highways, and moderate driving. Not even close to foolproof though. Worthless for backroads or late night swoops.

They work if properly installed and up to date.

That is the challenge, some of these companies come and go.

The two you mention have been around for a while.

Uniden also makes a nice system but it is a few thousand dollars.

Can be extremely illegal. One guy had one and forgot to turn it off when he parked at the airport. He ended up getting charged with a felony for interfering with flight ops.

I have a Uniden R8 I like quite a lot. If I were looking to spend the money on a jammer, I would probably get the R9.

Still need a backup for off-highway, backwoods.

A lot of these little shithole towns solely exist to steal money.

Visit Vortex Radar online, the dude knows his business.

Look at the Uniden R8, Valentine, Escort Redline plus waze.

Someone said it already but I have a Valentine One that is about 15+ years old and it works great. That's what I would go with. I am sure that Valentine makes a more upgraded model. It had great customer service and I was always able to get someone on the phone is necessary.

Spend a few thousand dollars to save $150 bucks on a speeding ticket.

Waze works great when police are parked on the side of the road. However, not so much when they are moving. I got a ticket doing 95 coming back from an alligator hunt. The cop was in the far right lane next to an eighteen wheeler. I never saw him. Waze needs to add a feature where you can report police cars on the move.
