Mandeville is getting fricking rough, man. You can hardly drive down the street without running over some cracked out drug head. Shootings are almost a daily occurrence. We’ve turned into a food desert. There’s nowhere to eat here, no grocery stores.

Then move.

Most of the wealth is in choudrant or outside the city limits all within a 10-15 minute drive of downtown Ruston

Metairie east of Causeway Blvd is great but expensive AF. Causeway to Clearview is meh and everything west of Clearview is Central America.

Do you have a link for Ruston being the wealthiest city per capita in the state?

i assume money from natural gas? but god damn talk about living in the middle of no where. i mean im sure if you are wealthy would be great but not sure what there would be in terms of greater economic opportunity. Not a ton of industry or professional services up there or large economic drivers.

There’s a billionaire and multiple multi, multi millionaires. It has a $10 billion dollar bank headquartered there, a couple of very very large construction, engineering, and service firms as well as a university.

Most of those people do not live within the city of Ruston, but they live in the ruston area.

That #1 is BS.

High crime (mayor got assaulted in his own restaurant, State Trooper's police car had guns stolen, assaults in Beau Chene), plus some numbnuts revving his race car at all hours...

Be safe, and stay away

Always a tough subject.
Metairie and Nola private school kids are the cream of the crop in this shitty state.

how the frick am i being a dumbass? Ruston in and of itself is pretty much middle of nowhere...10-15 min outside is certainly middle of nowhere

lincoln parish has a median income of 21k and household under 40k but yea im sure there are just tons and tons and tons of economic opportunity that most are just missing out on

umm there are 50k people in the whole damn parish...

your city of choudrant has a median household income of 58k and ruston is ~33k. i mean the great choudrant has a population of under 1000 people yet is roughly same household income of lake charles area and lincoln parich household income is less than half of that in places like Ascension, half of mandeville, moss bluff etc

but im sure its a paradise and Im just a dumbass to not realize an a parish of 50k and a household income under 40 is just booming.....my bad.

Richest area codes in LA

I don’t doubt you, but in the link I posted on wealthiest area codes, none in the top 10 are around Ruston.

And yes, the zip codes are being rank d by mean income, which for many of the super wealthy is a poor way to calculate. That’s why I asked for a link about Ruston being the wealthiest city per capita by far, because everything I’m finding when Google searching keeps coming back with areas around NOLA, areas in Ascension Parish, outside of Lafayette, and St. George.

What’s a good link to view wealth of a certain locale?

I don't understand the allure of Youngsville or Broussard, there are plenty of nice and safe neighborhoods in Lafayette proper.
If you are going the public option I don't think anything is touching Southside in terms of quality of education and accessibility to preparedness for life after HS with the vocational opportunities that school offers beyond providing a pretty good college prep curriculum for students going that route. I talk to a lot of the families in that area, and cost per sq/ft and Southside are the top 2 reasons to move there vs a comparable spot in Lafayette proper.
