DAVENPORT, Iowa — Frank Fritz, long-time co-host of the popular Quad-Cities-based History Channel show "American Pickers," has died at 60.
Fritz's co-host Mike Wolfe shared the news in an Instagram post Tuesday morning:
It’s with a broken heart that I share with all of you that Frank passed away last night.
I’ve know Frank for more then half my life and what you’ve seen on TV has always been what I have seen, a dreamer who was just as sensitive as he was funny. The same off camera as he was on, Frank had a way of reaching the hearts of so many by just being himself.
Who would have ever dreamed we would share the cockpit of a white cargo van in front of millions of people interested in our adventures.
Before the show we would take off together to places we never knew existed with no destination in mind and just the shared passion to discover something interesting and historic.
We’ve been on countless trips and shared so many miles and I feel blessed that I was there by his side when he took one last journey home. I love you buddy and will miss you so much I know your in a better place.
edit to add more details: The History Channel series followed Mike and Fritz as they travelled around the US on the hunt for antique treasures.
Fritz starred in the reality show alongside Mile since its debut in 2010, but in 2021 the former announced his departure citing health issues, including suffering from Crohn’s disease and going through back surgery.
In July 2022, he was hospitalized with a stroke, and two years later he died during the night of September 30, 2024.

I hope Frankie is up to his a-hole in pristine, original gas signage in that big barnpick in the sky.

Dang. Pretty sad. I would have Antiques Roadshow on in the background quite a lot back in the day. Stopped watching it after Frank left because it just wasn't the same after.

I liked those guys until the show got a little too staged. Still was entertaining. Mike and Frank were cool together.

They were a dynamic duo!
RIP Frank.

I wonder how many oil cans they'll put in the casket. Frank was good dude, RIP. AntiqueTiger is actively hunting down Franks address for the yard sale of all yard sales

Met Mike in real life at his store in Nashville and he was an enormous prick.
ETA
I loved the show so that was a bummer. Also recognized a bunch of stuff in the store from the show and it was LUDICROUSLY priced.
Frank always seemed like a nice one.

Didn't they have a falling out of some sort?

Went with my grandfather when they came through our town once and I have the same sentiment. Dude is an enormous a-hole.

Geez, he was not a healthy guy I guess. That's terrible.
Take care of yourselves folks. 60 is too young.

I liked the part where they find interesting things, but when they lowball the owners, I tuned it out. They seemed kinda shifty, especially with the tat queen handling their dispatches.

Yeah, but maybe they hashed it out since the stroke? Thought it was weird hearing about it from Mike. You could tell he was a cool dude, in those episodes where Mike would get mad at the old guys for not selling something he was always diplomatic.
He wrote some articles for a magazine and I never got the vibe he was a hustler.

Shocked it wasn’t the not fat guy on the show who died.

Wonder if he was always like that or became that way after the fame.
