SCAM? Any Hilton Honors Folks on the OT?

I got a call from Hilton Honors...supposedly, saying I won a reduced price to a vacation to either Las Vegas or Orlando. Ok, I am not buying. I tell him that. Then he walks me through the Hilton website, points to their Customer Rewards section and has me call. I dial in his extension and get him. Is this legit?
He says I won a prize for my points accumulation and needs a card on file to lock in a rate. I am beyond skeptical, but could a hacker redirect my contact info and have my info at their disposal?

Yes I am a HH member. I got a call like this a couple of years ago. They kept going on and on about some vacation shite. I told them if they called me again, I would be using Marriott in the future. I have not received another call since.

Hang up, call HHonors line directly and ask about the promo.
Marriott sends me postcards or notes my promos in my online profile.
This is probably related to their timeshare division, though. Like Marriott Vacation Club.

It may not be an outright scam, but you will have to attend one or more timeshare sales pitches

I wouldn't put a card down. They called me a year or so ago about a Las Vegas deal and they wouldn't take no for an answer. I got like 750 points for listening to them on the phone for a few minutes.

Definitely this...

I'm a member. It's not a scam, but you do have to go to a timeshare presentation. I listened to the pitch on the phone becuase they gave me 2,000 extra points or some bs like that. No way in hell would I waste my time on one of those vacations.

Am I wrong to say this is still worth it? If this is true, $199 for three nights in Las Vegas for a couple hours at a time share...am I missing something?

Sounds like hilton grand vacations (basically their timeshare offering).
I wouldn't give any information to anyone who calls me, anyway. If it's a direct promo, you can get the info by calling or logging into your account.

It's legit but not worth it. Don't do it.

Do that 20 more times and you might have enough for one free night.

Hilton Honors is so shitty now.

I am a member and never got that call so I would say scam alert

Verification email. Authenticated with Hilton. I don't know, this does not sound too terrible for a single guy. I have six months to decide a date and Spring Break looks good.

I don't think I would agree to sit thru a 2 hour sales pitch even if they told me I could have the trip AND the time share for free. I absolutely hate that kind of crap.
My in-laws, on the other hand, would sit thru a day long talk if it ended with a free shrimp cocktail. They financed their family vacations in part by attending time share pitches.

My wife and I have gone trips to NYC and Hawaii on Hilton Grand Vacations. We had to listen to their timeshare pitch but the hour we spent listening was ok. We told them no and had a relatively inexpensive vacation. NYC was 4 days and 3 nights at their West 57th location for $399. Hawaii was 6 days and 5 nights in Oahu with a rental car for $699. We had to pay for our airfare.

True, but that's pretty standard. They have deals too.
I guess it's all relative. I can accumulate 500k points in a year with the diamond bonus and quarterly double point promos. Find a deal for 20-30k a night and that's 2 weeks of free stays.
I haven't done Marriott rewards stays in a long time, but from I recall, they were pretty similar.
