Years ago I was with a group of people in NO for a bachelor party. We had been at the casino drinking. We had a hotel on Bourbon. One of the people with use decided to frick with one of the kids who do the whole "I bet I know where you got your shoes".

The dude with us was like "at as in where I bought them?". After a few minutes the kid (I say kid, I can't remember, it might have been someone in their late teens) finally figured out he was getting fricked with and he got mad, he was all like "you wasting my fricking time" then hit up other people. And the dude with us yelled "your shoes are on your feet. Don't let him fool you"..
The best thing to do when you go to the french quarter or any tourist spot is to wear a LSU or Saints (I am sure Tulane or Pelicans as well) hat. You are less likely to be targeted.

They have to get credit for being able to pick out the tourists, I have never been asked where I got them shoes - I have known some kids that used to do that though

I'm only 15 minutes into it, so I may change my mind, but the entire video has a staged feel. NOLA is obviously a scammy shithole, but him walking up to the guy asking for "higher risk games" and the guy "threatening" to throw him in the river felt fake as frick.
ETA: A few minutes later, he's meeting with the lispy guy that "runs the Tarot tables". This whole video is staged as frick.
