See ya Chicago, we're Charleston bound

I've been talking to the baws in FBD threads about it for years, and it's finally happening. Girlfriend got her offer letter today (I work remote) and we're going to put Chicago in the rearview mirror. The people in charge who hate me, my tax money, and my law abiding ways can have it...build your progressive utopia.

She's starting at the end of January and will head out before me. I'm staying back for a bit to get the condo listed, get the movers figured, and pack everything up. I should be down there around the beginning of March.

Already a member of the Charleston Badgers group on Facebook, already researching fishing charters and golf courses, and potentially applying for an apartment tonight. Gonna stay downtown somewhere with a pool so we can enjoy the scene and culture our first year down there, make some friends, and get the lay of the land. Maybe purchase something in a few years when home prices bottom out.

I'm now a CofC hoops fan and Clemson football fan, but probably need to make some adjustments to my wardrobe. Already annoyed at all the OSU fans in town.

Charleston baws, anything I need to know about assimilating, let's hear it.
