Update: Looks like they caught the shooter, and surprise surprise, his record is dirty:

ATLANTA - A multi-agency manhunt ended Sunday morning when authorities tracked down and arrested a suspect wanted for a shooting that occurred on a transit train at the Midtown MARTA Station on Friday night.
Members of the FBI AMMO Task Force, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Douglasville Police Department, Haralson County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia State Patrol captured the suspect, identified as Anthony Tyrone Gresham, around 10 a.m. Sunday.
The search began after a shooting occurred just after 7 p.m. Friday. MARTA officers patrolling inside the Midtown Station reported shots fired on a train that had stopped at the southbound platform. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot in his left arm and leg.
Investigators discovered both the victim and the shooter paid their fares to enter the station before heading toward separate railcars.
The two individuals made eye contact across the station, prompting the suspect to walk over to the victim's railcar and fire gunshots from the southbound platform, according to a statement released by MARTA police Saturday.
The victim was hospitalized, but is expected to survive.
Gresham ran from the scene before additional officers could arrive.

But according to a few fools on here; ATL is perfectly safe and it is not overrun by ghetto hood rats. This also includes most of the immediate surrounding suburbs as well. Gwinnett Co for example. The Atlanta area is a hell hole!
What does "over run with ghetto hood rats" mean? Is it 10% of the population? 50%? There are 6 million people in Metro Atlanta, about 400 murders a year. That is 6/1000 % of the people in Atlanta are murdered. 1 is too many but really, the odds are pretty slim if you ain't involved in crime yourself and you don't live in a handful of neighborhoods. Atlanta, like the entirety of the US, is far safer in 2026 than it was in 1976....but irrational fear is a crippling disease.

Only reason why it isn’t Memphis 2.0 is because of Georgia Tech and Delta Airlines.
I take it you've never been to Atlanta before? I'm struggling to figure out how tech being in downtown somehow elevates the city. Are you saying the crime and overall shittiness would somehow be worse if the campus was like a green space or something instead?
Weird comment from Philzilla.
The GT campus and immediate surrounding area is notorious for crime. It's almost as bad as LSU. Maybe worse.
Delta's HQ is in ATL, but so is Home Depot, IBM, and a bunch of other F500 companies.
Calling out GT and Delta as the only reason Atlanta isn't as bad as Memphis is an incomplete thought. Atlanta and Memphis aren't really comparable in any way. It's like comparing Chicago IL to Gary, IN.

frick Atlanta. Absolute shithole of a city with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Only reason why it isn’t Memphis 2.0 is because of Georgia Tech and Delta Airlines.
13 fortune 500 companies headquartered in Atlanta, 4th most in the US and per capita no other city comes close to Atlanta....but yeah, its nearly Memphis LOL...
Crime rates in Atlanta are far lower than in Memphis and Atlanta has 4 times as many people. Atlanta is pretty generic and has become a massive shopping center and chain restaurant strip and car dealer strip but it ain't dangerous or a shite hole, it is just kind of boring....

IBM's headquarters is in Armonk, NY.

First time I ever saw trannies. I would go to the LA Fitness on/near GT campus at 4:15AM every weekday and would see them leaving the corners that they were working.

GT is closer to downtown than where this shooting happened (10th st, heart of midtown)

Know how to get tax payers to stop using public transportation
Tax payers, for the most part, aren’t using MARTA already.
