If I have enough to bring the cart out, I always put them back in the cart corral. You can fit so much in the reusable bags though, I seldom need to take the cart out anymore.
The only exception is when I get a close parking spot- I bring it back to the store.

The WM parking lot in a border town is a shite show of epic proportions. Those Mexicans come across and act like they do in their shithole country. They'll take 3 parking spots and not think twice about it. It was also pretty normal to watch them wheel a cart to put it in a median that was 2-3× farther away than the corral.

and lack any type of altruism. I put shopping carts in the corral because I want to make sure that if someone has mobility issues (old people) they can find a place to park that provides them minimal distance from the store.

The white people in Santa Barbara do this in the Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and Lazy Acres parking lots all the time. And most of these people are probably wayyyyyy more wealthy than you. So don't get all racist.
