And texas drivers still block the left lane the whole time.

There’s still about a 3 mile stretch between Winnie and Beaumont they’re in the process of widening. Then another two spots around the Beaumont curve and US 96.

Louisiana is dragging their arse on finishing the widening from the state line to Vinton.

Hopefully it's not the same group that added a 3-mile lane between the Sabine and Orange that took 20 years.

Sidenote, the U.S. has outgrown the two lane interstate. Make it normal to be 3 lanes and have your 18 wheelers have to stay in the far right lane except to pass where they can only use the middle to do so.

Please tell this to lawmakers in Alabama .

What's the point of a far left lane of 3 if there is some Fed Ex Ground double trailer chugging along at 71 mph clogging up the lane?

The passing lane is full of Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, and Oklahoma drivers in Houston all the time. Don't worry brah. Diesels, Teslas, construction bros on the phone, and women.

This is how it was when I worked in Saudi Arabia. All vehicles pulling a trailer and vehicles over a certain weight were required to drive the right lane. The speed limit for those in the right lane was 10 kmph slower.

Well it’s better than being in Louisiana towns where people don’t know they need to accelerate in their car when the light turns green. Pisses me off.

This! Some spots from Jax to BR on I-10 that are two lanes drive me crazy .

Ironic, wasn’t those lanes the widest for the longest time?

In mid 1990s, all of a sudden three lanes apprear for about 25 miles near Winnie. As if TX DOT was anticipating a big circus to come to town and stay for a while.

I-10 between Houston and Lafayette is basically a full parking lot going 80 mph. I've lived all over the country and there is no stretch of highway more dense with a-hole drivers in the United States.

I hate it. I avoid I-10 as much as possible.

...and any drivers from Texas. They are restricted from the left lane.

Definitely on the I-10 corridor and most of the East-West routes I’ve traveled. Several of the North-South routes are perfectly fine with two lanes. For example, I’d be pissed if they wasted our tax dollars widening I-49 b/w Alex and Shreveport, etc.

They’ve “been in the process” of widening that stretch since about 1992. I’m not going to count on it being completed in my lifetime.

Hey sport...those are Katrina refugees and us Texans would love to see them all return to LA permanently.

I rarely see trucks in the left lane in CA and most highways have a truck speed limit that’s lower
