Most people just don’t realize one is out. Later, when the second goes out, they say, “dang, they both went out at same time!”

Based upon my own observations, most of them are Chevy/GMC vehicles, and mainly Tahoes, Surburbans, or Denalis.

Used to put my brights on if one went out. Might get pulled over. Now, my ride could be on fire and I wouldn't worry.

It’s hard to know you’ve got a headlight out if someone doesn’t tell you.

I don’t know if most cars have an indicator for a light out?

Haven’t seen as many the past ten years or so. Before that it seemed more common. Early 90’s Nissan I owned back in the day, I replaced the headlight at least twice.

Some of those LED headlights units are very expensive to replace. Not like changing a $20 bulb in old cars so the poors just leave it broke.

New LED headlight assemblies are about $1200.

I've had one burn out and I took my arse straight to auto zone and got a new one.
I fricking hate people that drive around with brights on because they are too damn lazy to change a $10 light bulb

GMC vehicles

My GMC was a pain in the arse to change out a headlight.

My wife also got a ticket for a rear running light out on her vehicle. Not a warning, not a "fix it" ticket, a full on ticket that we had to contest. Ended up being reduced but still had to pay it.

Not to mention hard to get to.

Buick Enclave...you have to take the wheel off, remove the inner fender liner, snake your entire arm through a not very big hole just to reach it...by feel...you can't see it.

Dodge Ram...The correct way is to remove the front grill then the headlight assemblies then change the headlights. You can actually remove the headlight assemblies without removing the grill with some effort.

Thank you Youtube..

Has anyone priced an LED headlight from GM and other car makers?

Some of the made the newer ones built into the plastic so it is not like heading to Autozone for a replacement bulb to swap out. You need to bring it to the dealer, with an appointment and a large wad of cash if not in warranty since they have to replace the entire assembly.
