Speeding Ticket in Jefferson Parish - Fight it?

What are some successful ways to fight a speeding ticket in Jefferson Parish?
Ticket was for 31 in a 20 on Lake Ave. Motorcycle cop hiding behind a tree and dumpster. There's no way I was doing 31, but I didn't argue with him at the time.
Thanks.

nice play. He won't show up for court (dress business casual)..you win

Just get it reduced to a non moving violation so it won't go on your insurance. You will still pay the full amount but at least your insurance will not go up. Go to the courthouse with the ticket and ask for article 894. I've done it for my children and wife in 3 different parishes within the last year.
Jefferson parish was one of the parishes also.

Speed enforcement shitbags schedule all their court appearances for like 1 day a month so they only have to go to court on that day.

Actually, there's no way to fight except going to court, see what happens...and meet him at Sonic after?

Make a campaign contribution to John Alario. It's gotten me out of a couple of tix in Jeff.

Yes you were....

Go to traffic court.. They may knock it down to a seat belt violation...

Tell the judge:
You are a sovereign citizen of Bucktown so you do not recognize his authority.
You have PTSD from Katrina and you wanted to get away from the 17th Street Canal asap because it’s the Metairie side’s turn to break.
R&O’s is worth speeding.

Thanks for the comments.
I'll go to court. Just say I wasn't going 31? What's a good way get it changed to a non-moving violation?

When you arrive, the DA will line people up in the hall and call you in one by one. Say you need a non moving to keep your insurance clean. They'll do it.

Go to court and plead not guilty. you will get another court date to go to "trial". Will probably get thrown out on the 3rd court date when the officer doesn't show. You completely waste 3 whole days, but hey you didn't pay that $150 ticket.

Lake ave. (Tijuana part 2) is notorious for speeding tickets. I quit going down that street years ago.

haha don't waste your one 894 on a speeding ticket...save that for a possession charge or something more serious

Call sheriff
Pay fine w/non-moving
Or, you can get someone to fix it for you
Eta: Do not waste your time going to court. You will lose, and then be forced to pay court costs. Think about it....your only argument is "there's no way I was going 31". We live in a guilty until proven innocent society
Eta #2: You are not required to go to court for 11 over. For speeding only 20+ over has a mandatory court appearance

You don't have to do this. Every speeding ticket I've ever gotten (in state and out of state) if you call the DA's office after your ticket is processed, you can request getting it pushed to a non-moving violation. No visit to the courthouse required. If you have a bunch of tickets on your record, that's another story.
