Visitor parking on LSU campus

The wife and I are alumni (1974) but haven't been on campus in the last 10 years or so. Are non-student vehicles allowed on campus? Are there parking areas for non-student vehicles?
We'll be in Baton Rouge this week and she wants to visit the student union and book store (memories and all that you know).

There won't be much to jog your memory. The union is completely redone, and the bookstore is across the street.

I think there is parking around the Union and you can get to it without having to cross into the campus gates. But I imagine it’s pretty limited. In the past you could get visitor parking access at the corner of Dalrymple and Highland, but I’m not sure if that’s still correct or not.
You could always park in student lots and walk pretty far. And if you get a ticket you can dispute it as a visitor and get it removed, but you have to go through the hassle of doing that I guess.

Just visit after 4:30 and they don’t care where anyone parks. School is out too so they doubly won’t care.
Just don’t blame me if they ticket you.

You can also go to the parking office and get a 1 day parking pass for a few bucks.
go to the gate on South Stadium by Nicholson tell the traffic guy at the gate you are going to parking. building is directly across from the chemical engineering building.

As another poster mentioned, visit after 4:30 if it’s a week day. If it’s a weekend you can visit whatever time you want. There’s signs all over that list what’s fair game.
I recommend parking at the Tower circle. That’s right smack dab in the middle of campus. Plenty of spots along the parade grounds there. If that’s not available then I recommend parking next to Barnes and Noble.

Their should be the visitors lot right there at Highland and Dalrymple.

That is significantly different than when I was there in 1980. A lot has changed. There is no more bookstore in the Union, now there is a Barnes and Noble across the Highland.
Graduation is coming up this week as well, so parking may be a bit more difficult than typical after classes have ended. But the parking Garage behind Barnes and Noble is always a good choice. It is paid parking at a Kiosk during the week but I think the kiosks will not accept payment if it is during a time when parking is open to the public in all the lots.

I kept my old calculus book, it may as well have been written in Latin when I look at it now

I've found visitor parking spots near the book store/law school during the week. If not, just park in the stadium parking lot and throw the ticket in the trash. You haven't been to campus in a decade and may not be for another decade.
