What is Louisiana law regarding shooting someone breaking into car in connected garage?

Covered garage under same roof is considered part of house as far as I am concerned.
I not to shoot someone in the back, but what if I hear someone in my garage and confront them with a gun?
What if I shoot the cocksucker?

People hate the law, but you'd be going to court.

It will all come down to if you feel in danger

This is definitely the place to come to for legal advice....

Send them to their maker if you can articulate That you felt you were in danger. Law should be to mow them down for taking your spare change.

I'd imagine it falls under curtilage, but i won't say Louisiana law lines up perfectly with my state's take.

100000% I would feel my life is in danger if a stranger is in my garage.

Yes, I believe you should be able to legally end them even if they're just messing with your curtains.

As long as you yell, OMG, that person is coming straight for me, I’m scared for my life!
You can shoot
You can shoot

Did this actually happen or are you just fantasizing?

I’ve been on two juries (not murder cases), you don’t want your fate in the hands of a jury.

that's not true.
If you shoot a toddler carrying a whiffle ball bat because you felt in danger you're going to jail. It has to be something a reasonable person would believe is significant danger of grave bodily harm.
If all they're doing is breaking into your vehicle it's better to remain in your home and wait on the cops. Yeah, it'd be nice to be able to step out guns blazing but if the shite goes to court you're looking at hundreds of thousands of dollars to defend yourself in court. Unless it's black and white self defense it's going to make your life miserable one way or another. Yeah, it kind of sucks that's how it is but you have to make decisions based on how things are, not how they should be.

Repeat after me: “I was being attacked. “

The OT is definitely a solid place to get legal advice about killing someone. Carry on OP

It’s not just for shootings, but there is a statute that says if you quote exact advice from TD you can use it as a valid defense.

Damn, way to not be subtle about it.

You're in my house fricking with my car and you said you're gonna shoot me.
So you're dead.
So you're dead.

They'd hear your velcro shoes and gold chain banging off your chest long before you made it to the door.

This did not happen to me, but there was a break in and car burglarized while in the covered, connected garage.
People were not at home and alarm system did not cover the garage.
I am aware that this is not a simple YES - NO question, but was wondering what would happen if it had been my garage and I was home and heard them..... I know I would be armed, but I don't want to end up in prison over valuables left in my garaged vehicle.
