This was gonna fail from day 1. A guaranteed failure. My question is how much money did Troy Carter squeeze out of investors and or tax payers ? I want an answer.

Billions upon billions upon billions wasted by the state and NOLA

We bringing 2 million visitors but lose $ on Mardi Gras.

I’d rather it be left vacant. Let nature reclaim it

Who's dumb enough to even consider developing that site?

You'd have thought he'd learned. But he did put in with a group that made a proposal.

City government gets about 25% the tax revenue but 100% of the cost.
Plenty of other government agencies getting that money with no cost allocation are going just fine…

They tore down the rotting rides along 510.
If nothing else happens I appreciate that
Who gonna pay to tear the rest down and let it return to green space?

Just a reminder that Troy Henry/Henry Consulting (who are in the process of botching this thing...which is doomed to failure no matter what) also wanted the trash contract via their pal LaToya.
One can imagine how badly that would've gone.

stuff like this does make you wonder how anything EVER gets done in this state.
I have been trying to get a light industrial commercial project permitted for about 2 and a half years now. Tell me about it.

It wasn't worth building in the first place, when they originally decided to erect Jazzland. And that was it's height.

Been in jeopardy for 21 yrs now.
Even if they found someone to fund it, it wouldn't last. No one is going to NOLA East to be robbed or murdered.

Why open a venue for more Changing Consumer Habits interactions?

it might surprise people but it was only open a few years, less than 6 for sure. That place was hot as hell, with no trees. look at the second one from 2005, just a few months from the hurricane.
that was a fact that i learned when i watched the fairly decent "closed for storm" documentary on the park. not beign from here, i jsut assumed it was an old park from the 70s or whatever that was eventually bought out by six flags. was surprised to learn that it didnt even open until the late 90s, and it was only Jazzland for like two years or something.

I have an idea: Tear it all down and return it to nature. That’s the best solution for many parts of da East.
It'll all be in the gulf one day anyway. Might as well start the ecosystem down the path.
