Hank Williams Jr. may have lost quite a few fans in Baton Rouge, La., Saturday night. Williams cursed the crowd of 6,500, failed to finish his songs, chucked his fiddle in the air and stumbled off after only 20 minutes on stage.
Not only did the people demand their money back, they burned their Hank Jr. T-shirts. Sheriff's deputies seized Williams' private plane at the airport until his agents agreed to pay $65,000 to reimburse people for tickets, pay expenses and pay the Centroplex arena a profit.Williams eventually went home to Nashville Sunday, and publicist Kent Arwood explained the incident by saying it was caused by "a personal problem with Hank. It has nothing whatsoever to do with alcoholism or anything else like that."

I remember my parents going to a Hank Jr concert in BR and he was piss arse drunk and only played 2-3 songs. Gotta be the same event, huh?

He did shite like that all the time. He doesn’t do that anymore though. I’ve seen him probably 50 times and he was only so drunk one time in Houston that his band played and the crowd sang along.
Also, a portion of his concerts he always plays like 20 songs in one.
But yeah it was booze.

My dad still recalls this event for why he quit paying for concerts.
One drunk country baw ruined a man's whole perspective on live music.

David Allen Coe used to do the same crap. Seen him 6 times. he finished maybe two shows. Comes in drunk, then after three or four songs, storms out.

Yup. Saw once at Texas Club, never would again.
Horrible but still kinda funny.

I got a Hank JR live album out of the used cd rack once. If that was what they decided to record and sell as a representation of his live performances, I can only imagine you'd have to be pretty drunk to think you got your money's worth to see the show in person.

How are these guys, guys like Coe and Hank, even still alive ?? In real life, most of the drinkers ive known, heavy drinkers (and if these guys are getting that drunk at shows, they gotta be puttin down some liquor in their personal lives too)- all the ones ive known are either dead or their quality of life is so poor they wouldnt be able to stand up for two hours to give a concert, even if they knew how to sing.. I dont get it .

Yes but he came back and gave a make-up concert with $10 for the good seats and played his arse off.
Jesus, that man gave a performance that night that should have been recorded and available for purchase.
