Why are institutions so against testing the MTHFR gene?

The science has concluded that, whatever you do, do NOT test for these gene variants.
For the uninitiated, the gene is believed by some conspiracy theorists to inhibit the body's ability to process folic acid, which is artificially added to our food supply. This inability to process folic acid down to its methylated form causes mental and cardiovascular problems, the conspiracy theorists claim.
Even 23andme, who includes many datapoints about your DNA, will not show you your MTHFR analysis no matter how many customers are willing to pay for it. They have admitted that this is the most common request they get and still will not provide it to customers. They will give you results of totally scientific genes like "do you have the fear of public speaking gene?" but would never dabble in heretical science of letting you see what your MTHFR status is. You can, however, download your raw DNA results and analyze it yourself.
You already have the DNA test done and have done analysis on tons of other genes, why not add one more?
What in the MTHFR'n hell is going on here?

Cleveland Clinic say this test is unnecessary, stick to tests that tell you if you like broccoli or not instead: LINK /

Someone has been listening to Joe Rogan. I agree by the way. That guest (Gary Brecka) brought a lot of health concerns to light.

I’ve had anti-gluten activists preach to me about how all kinds of shite is in our food, cosmetics, and other every day items that aren’t supposed to be there in part because it is either a byproduct of something else or it is cheap filler they use to pad out a product.
Things like this certainly make me wonder how much of the shots taken at the “gluten allergy” people are because of people with a vested interest in continuing to sell things using those byproducts in there.

Just take the pills on Amazon bro
Why test when you can just take a pill
ETA: I think the reason people are so weak is because they tell women not to drink when pregnant now
Russians drink when they’re pregnant, Ukrainians don’t

Russia also sells vodka in pull tab bottles because both the bottle and the Russian are meant to be drunk in one sitting.

I just discovered that the founder of 23andme's sister was the CEO of Youtube up until a few months ago.

Russians also dominate in the lower body portion of powerlifting competitions because they squat instead of using chairs

Prenatal care regimen focuses on folic acid supplement if I recall correctly. But that's been 22 years. What's the theory on why we're getting worse at processing the acid?

MTHFR test is pretty easy to get from your doctor, pending you have a more natural minded doctor. Can be added to a gene panel easily. I think everyone should do a gene panel early in life to see how your body works and how to make it run more smoothly.

Gary Brecka explained methylation the best that I’ve heard so far. Methylation defects can lead to MANY issues that are currently fixed by pharmaceuticals. The inability to properly methylate B vitamins can also make it very difficult or somewhat difficult to carry a pregnancy to term depending on the type of mutation you have. To repair that issue, you take methylfolate (in a methylated b-complex) instead of folate and avoid folic acid.
If you simply diagnose a genetic mutation and tell the patient to begin supplementing with methylated B vitamins and some other precursor vitamins for proper neurotransmitter pathway functions that would take lots of $$$$$$ out of the system.
I think the reason MTHFR isn’t taken seriously yet is because it doesn’t affect everyone exactly the same way… and because it wouldn’t turn a profit for pharma.

The gluten thing isn’t real
Women be eating nothing but chips and pop tarts and Diet Coke and wonder why they feel bad and have diarrhea all the time
Eventually some smart doctor came up with a disease name for a disease where the treatment is eating a vegetable

Well, vegetables tend to put up the least resistance…

I will only see this as the MOTHERfrickER gene

These gene testing companies aren’t competent enough to give you actual medical information and they know it. Most of what they feed you is bullshite. Their processes aren’t secure enough that they can give medical information and have it be accurate consistently. They’d be opening themselves up to lawsuits and all kinds of regulatory shite. There’s a little more to her story but Elizabeth Holmes just got 11 years in part for giving out fraudulent medical info. No one wants to go near that.

I recently got tested & confirmed that I have the MTHRFKR gene.

Many manageable illnesses were fatal in the past.

With treatment, life expectancy is normal.
Without it, it is fatal around 30.

All has to do with pharmaceuticals or big pharma selling their expensive stimulants reformulated 10x over for more money each time. The doctor my kid went to for adhd insisted on dna testing from a company called Genomind. It basically runs the same tests Gary Brecka and many many others mention regarding methylation. My daughter’s test was run in 2017 and sure as heck the mthfr gene is listed as low activity. COMT was low activity too. She doesn’t tolerate adhd meds and hasn’t taken them for years. (COMT says she wouldn’t get positive effects of stimulants). Despite the results of the Genomind test the doctor pushed every type of stimulant on my kid. Tried all of them. Then when the meds depressed her they put her on SSRI and a low key anxiety med!! We went off of them about a year ago at my daughter’s insistence and she’s really changed for the positive. Some of the cruds she dealt with were typical girl middle school blues and I can’t be sure adhd meds caused everything, but I am sure now that she’s a happier and thriving as a freshman.
Note: reading this it seems so strange how these psych doctors and schools push these powerful meds on parents.

Schools are incentivized to push that crap because they don’t want to figure out how to manage an issue that didn’t exist in schools for decades and they don’t want to reinstitute physical activity, which would help tremendously.
Physicians are incentivized because refills require a doctor’s appointment that they can bill for and because they will lose a patient if they don’t do “something”.
Parents make it worse because they demand something be done and refuse to accept that there is nothing wrong with their child and they simply need to fricking parent.
