Dude shut up. The older generation CREATED the technology you are using. Any idiot can learn to push buttons. And oh yeah they put men in the moon. Idiot

Oh, I don't know. My materials science company develops printed semiconductors, thin-film solar, batteries with no lithium-ion, encryption technology, and LED display technology that produces no heat.

And I'll be 60 soon, so there's that.

Do I code, or work in IT? No. Do I enjoy coding or working in IT? No. Do I enjoy creating "lifehacks" and posting inane videos to the internet that illustrate things that most people my age figured out by the time they were 10 years old? No.

Do I hire coders, IT people and engineers. Hell yes.

Grasping technology and being a slave to it are two different things.

Define old.

I'm 50 and I'd kick 90% of young people's arse in technology.

Meanwhile, I'm stunned at how many young people can't even format a friggin word document and Lord help them, young people STILL don't seem to understand that social media isn't your private diary

Same here. I worked 15 years as a DBA for DOD. Then 8 years as a QA Engineer for CA.

I still consult for .gov, pays well.

It’s old people who developed a lot of the technology. A few young guys developed Facebook and Google, But Steve Jobs would have been over 60 now has he lived.

Change has a way of sneaking up on you because at first it isn't that dramatic, especially if in an area that isn't a focus of your professional life.

Plus there's the fact that someone who is getting ready to retire soon just doesn't have a huge reason to learn new ways. Someone just getting started in life does if he cares about having a successful career.

I do remember when the internet blew up in the 90s and everyone got a PC.

Some old people thought the disc drive was a coffee mug holder. that one always make me smile.

Why can’t young punks drive standard transmissions?

And many young people think a "slipped disk" means a malfunctioning computer.

She just doesn't want to have to get into a conversation with you.

You always call while jeopardy is on.

I love to live life not being stuck to new devices.

When I was a kid you wanted to talk to a girl you carried a conversation with her.

You want to hang with friends you went over to their place and hung out with them.

Ha! At the other end of the spectrum, a friend passes along this story - So my son calls & cannot get into his car, the battery on his "key" is dead. Dad asked if he tried to unlock it manually. Son replied, "What do you mean"? Well, at the bottom, below the button, there is a key, put it in the lock & turn. Son replied, "Really"?

Thinking it is much easier for us old folks to grow with the times & technology than it would be for the youngsters to move back in time when there was none. Imagine rotorary telephones, radio, no tv or a typewriter instead of email.

Thinking it is pretty sad when cursive writing is a "new" subject for public schools.

You do realize that one day (hopefully) you will also be old and the young people then will be criticizing you for not doing what they think you should.
