Why does Enterprise try to downgrade my rental EVERY time?

It seems as if every time I rent from Enterprise, they pull a "this is the only car we have available" move?
I went today to pick up my reserved rental, a "full size" car, and they pull around with a damn Nissan Sentra!
I raised enough hell, and they magically found a Nissan Maxima in the back that was available.
Last time, I was renting a Yukon for a long trip, and they pulled around with a damn Nissan Rogue. Again, they magically found a Suburban in the back.

I seem to get free upgrades nearly every time I get a rental. It's become a running joke with my family. I don't even try to get an upgrade, they just give them to me.

I used to work at Enterpise and I can tell you for certain those cars they magically found in the back were a couple thousand miles over on a oil change or had a check engine light that they swiped off to rent. You probably raised enough hell to where they said screw if let’s just get him on the road

Decades ago I thought car rental was a lot like airports and train stations. Places of exotic departure for the higher class. Now, they are full of the dregs of society and I treat them as if I need a mask and total body sanitizer to even walk through them.

Yep, lots of Karen activity and ghetto trash today.
It was a true shitshow while waiting for my rental.

You hit the nail on the head. It was an eye opening experience for me. I was shocked how many guns we found in cars/ the condition the cars were returned in. Granted I worked in a rough location but shocking regardless
