Why does Sirius/XM have DJs?

Seems like an easy way to save costs not having these assclowns talking. The whole original appeal of satellite radio was nonstop music, no ads or DJs
Just have a rotating playlist of 50 songs for each station and you are good. No breaks needed.

I like the DJs. They can add interesting info on some bands. At least the stations I listen to. They rarely on for more than 10-20 seconds every 10-15 minutes. Also fun and strange to hear Tom Petty talk on his channel about stuff.

Real Jazz station has some good shows
I usually always try and catch Miller Time with Marcus Miller.
He does a good job giving a perspective or little nuggets of interesting info on songs. Has great knowledge of the history of jazz
