Only 3 prisoners took the cards.

Thats because the majority of men in prison were raised by single mothers. Seems like the fathers role is pretty damn important to raising a functioning man. Father's day should be more important than mother's day.

Also, children of single fathers incarnation rate is about the same has a father and mother household.

Happy Father’s Day. It’s 100+ heat index. You want to go stand in front of a fire for a while?

I see we have all the sexist people on this thread.

I always wonder- where exactly is the borderline between being sexist and being gay? I find sexist people to sound pretty gay a lot of the time.

Men who call other men sexist are gay. You’re projecting.

As a mom I even completely agree that these days are not necessary. And neither is Valentine’s Day. There I said it.

I'm going to smoke some chicken wings, bring them in the house, have it smell like smoke, drink, and watch a Godzilla movie. No one's stopping me tomorrow.

Yall sound like your lives are sad as hell. Around here, The women cook for the guys on Fathers Day. And the guys cook for the women on Mother’s Day. Homemade cards and gifts are given. Fun times are had.

This. Im like half the guys posting here, I dont like all the hooplah. I just wanna have some drinks and enjoy my day off before I go back to providing. I tell them I expect and almost prefer nothing.

Here's the thing, anybody see that 70s show episode where Red just wanted all the horseshite to be over because things werent going well and Kitty gets onto him that the day isn't even about him, it's about her and the kids and showing their appreciation for him as a provider? That was some damn spot on social commentary. I dont want a bunch of drawings and some extravagant meal or any of that. But I know its important I openly accept everybody's effort to show me love as a father, it means a lot to them. People need to be reciprocated, and it's nice to be reminded of the love they have for me.

That said, this entire topic isn't surprising. We're reaching the end of weak men, hard times. Da evil white straight providing man is the ultimate evil now, how long can this last? Our society is circling the drain, and appreciation for those who carry society is an all time low. Weakness and echo chambers are sitting on pillars. It is what it is, people suck, and I feel very bad for you who married into a life where you're not loved and recognized for your sacrifices because we have little left outside the family.

My wife has done a fantastic job this weekend for me. We have had a great time and I appreciate the effort she has put into this weekend.

At HEB, for Mother's Day, there was a whole tent setup with a worker stationed there making hundreds of strawberries and cakes in chocolate fondu and balloons/cards at station all saying "Happy Mother's Day"

I didn't see one single thing at HEB today for anything Father's Day related.

To be fair, they probably thought they were doing good by taking you out to eat instead of having you grill?

You can't tell me that women didn't organize this and see that it was on Father's Day weekend.

I remember a lot of my travel ball mom friends posting about being at tournaments Mother's Day weekend. Neither day is sacred to organizers if money is to be made.

The older our kids get, the less important it is to us to celebrate these days. When they were babies it was more important because we were in survival mode and learning how to be parents so we were less likely to express appreciation to each other, if at all. These days we have the bandwidth to do that pretty much on a daily basis so no need to go all out on actual Mother and Father's day. We still do gifts and cards from the kids but it's a silly morning and the rest of the day is vegging out.
