Bobcat all day, I mean I successfully fought off a few cougars back in the day, not all of them, but a few of them, I like my odds with a bobcat

This thread would be better if it were:

Bobcat or Coyote

Or

Mountain Lion vs Wolf

True.

"Fighting Off" a Bobcat would be significantly easier than tangling with a wolf.
The Bobcat would never look at a human as prey or even in its food chain. The human has been in the Wolf's food chain for millennia.

I've never read about Trappers or Settlers being devoured by Bobcat in the wilderness.

Bobcat, easy.

Now...

115 lb. mountain lion versus 130 lb. wolf?

Wolf.

They both will kill me but I would have less than a snowball's chance against the lion.

its hilarious reading these folks comments scared of a 20 pound kitty, but willing to take on a 150 lb wolf. there are reports of elderly females 60-80s age sustaining only skin wounds bobcat attacks (even though the bobcat attacked the head/face/neck only minor wounds to grandma).

bobcat claws being so intimidating is laughable. Cats dont kill prey by clawing to death. Even with felines their primary attack is BITE. claws are a defensive deterrent or used help gain positioning on a moving target to use their BITE. Bobcat bite is pretty weak compared to the wolf who could literally crush your femur with a bite.

A wolf would absolutely destroy most men, but bobcats haven't been able to give more than some minor scratches and bites to weak and unsuspecting grandmas. Bobcat is just not a legitimate threat to an able-bodied human.

Better comparisons would be bobcat or pitbull.
Now I would rather fight the wolf than the mountain lion, but the mountain lion is 5x the size of a bobcat.

Bobcats are scary, but i think a fully grown man could fight off a bobcat with no weapons. An unarmed man facing a wolf will be dinner every. single. time.

Lol. Bobcats attack turkey hunters every year, almost always from behind. I’ve never heard of a turkey hunter being killed by a bobcat. I’ve never heard of anyone killed by a bobcat.

Usually wolves come in packs.

an adult human could fight off a bobcat with no weapons and only a very low likelihood of life-threatening injury.

video of rabid bobcat and a couple dudes getting the bobcat off the dog.

lol dude is just swinging a bobcat around from his arm after he removes it from his dog. this is a rabid bobcat without fear and increased aggression and is effectively handled by just kinda swinging his arm around like "frick get this thing off me" I doubt just kinda swinging your arm would do anything for a wolf.

There are reports of bobcats getting the jump on 80 year old ladies... 80 year old ladies survive the attacks with MINOR injuries. bobcats just aren't a threat to humans.

Even Mountain lion or a wolf...I choose mountain lion.

Felines have a specific way of attacking. They target the neck of their prey and try to kill relatively clean.

Wolves are like bear they are savage. They like to go for the throat but are just as happy to tear out your guts or rip off your arm, or chew your legs up.

You have a slight but better chance of defending against a mountain lion.

Wolves are in the category of bears, lions, and tigers in that if they want to eat you....they will.

Bear easily since the bear may grow bored with me if I play dead correctly. A tiger doesn’t play that way.

No they’re not. Not sure where all of you experts are coming from but I have Bobcats on my lease. I literally killed 2 bobcats in the past 6 months. Both were mature males and neither one of them weighed 30 pounds. I have a beagle that is bigger than both of them.

Exactly, although I suspect the claws are on another level.
I like how you picked a pic of cat sharpening it’s claws and another pic of a house cats paw when it’s asleep.

A regular arse house cat is not a big Tom cat.

Also you didn’t link a bobcat, that’s a lynx. Look at its ears.

Y’all need to leave the animal shite to the actual outdoorsman.

By your logic would you rather fight s house cat or a silverback gorilla? One has claws a and one doesnt.

Anyone who says Wolf has never actually seen a bobcat and a full grown male Timberwolf.

Anyone who would rather fight this

Cats are predators. Wolves are pack hunters. You’d likely scare off a lone wolf. A scared/pissed bobcat would wreck your shite.
I don’t know why but this dumbass statement makes me irrationally mad.

So you tell OML that he doesn’t know anything about zoology all the while you post a picture of a lynx (not a bobcat) and assume that there are wolves living in Cheyenne, WY when there are not.

Bobcat and it's not even close.

The average bobcat weighs 19 lbs the average male wolf weighs between 66-180 lbs.

And a bobcat would have a harder time ripping open your throat. That is the first thing a wolf does.

Wolves take down large animals. Bobcats kill small animals. I would fight the bobcat before a wolf...

Wolf.

A wolf's strength is intelligence and it's pack.

My dog is one of the only true "wolf killer" breeds in the world. Even when his blood is hot, I can control his head.

So you think you can control a wolf?

Your in a 15x15 room with a full grown male Timberwolf that hasn’t eaten in a week. Tell me how you plan on controlling this machine that’s made to kill 2000 pound bison.
