Currently in the office. I've been on teams calls since 7:30 AM.

Welcome to 2025 work culture.

Someone in IT must be earning a commission on all the corporate zoom account users.

Or they are run the IT budget like a government budget. Why cut it when you already have it baked into the budget.

100%

We actually send a courtesy message asking if a person is available to speak before just calling.

Had someone ping me asking if I could join a meeting happening in 15 minutes, I replied "thats fine" and they were calling me via teams within 20 seconds. There was no meeting.

How does this help people who are in the office & use it to video conference with customers spread out across the country?

i absolutely hate Teams, but my company won't use it.

i've told my boss we can do everything in Teams and we're already paying for it to no avail.

in the meanwhile, i've had to pivot and host 3 meetings from zoom to teams in the last 2 hours.

to the people pretending like everybody zooming is lazy WFH, I'm on a meeting between myself (Temple, TX.) my sales guy (in Denver,) and a customer (in Oklahoma City.) How else would you recommend we meet?

We use Zoom Phone but fortunately that does not seem to be affected.

I'm sitting in my office about to jump on a Zoom meeting with people in 3 different states. If you think Zoom is only used when working from home, that's probably an indictment on you.

I always have login issues with Teams due to our Enterprise severs, and when it does work, then I fight for 4 minutes to get my earbuds connected. Zoom has always just been a smoother experience for me.

I think we can all agree, though, that frick Webex.

agreed. Zoom is just much smoother experience for me and my team. there's a lot of great stuff in Teams, don't get me wrong, it's just a more cumbersome experience.

but you can also message, share files, connect to your one drive etc. in Teams. more powerful, just more of a pain in the arse.

Yea, for a while my wife and I worked from home in different rooms…from the kitchen you couldn’t tell which one was ringing…it was mostly hers, but it didn’t stop me from panicking for a second.
