Looking for a cooler around the 20 quart size. Not really wanting to pay the Yeti price, but the number of knockoffs is crazy.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
fp

Hard or soft cooler?
In these smaller sizes the hardsides just don’t make sense to me, because the wall thickness to interior volume is bordering on silly. They’re heavy as hell and awkward to carry.
I had a Wally World (Ozark?) soft side that lasted a couple of years before the zipper ripped out. Was given an Engel soft side for Father’s Day as a replacement and it’s a world of difference. Better zippers, better straps, better insulation, easier to carry because it tapers near the top unless you’ve got it slam full.
Whether all that is worth the price is up to the individual. The Ozark did work, it just wasn’t nearly as easy to use, mainly due to the crappy zippers.

Hard preferred, but open for suggestions. Zippers are a pain.

Something that size is usually just for drinks for the day. Any hard side cheap cooler from Walmart is gonna keep your drinks cold at the pool party. I have a yeti soft side that my kids gave me for Father's day about 5 years ago. It sits on the shelf mostly. I can getcthe hard coolers dirty on my 4 wheeler, just hit 'em with the pressure washer and they look brand new.
I do have a 48ish quart hard side Rtic that will keep beer and ice cold for a few days. It is damned heavy when loaded, and usually just stays in back of my truck all weekend on beach trips. If someone wants to steal it, they gonna have to empty that mutherfukr to get it out of truck.

Check out the Ozark welded coolers walmarks sells. I have the 36 can version and love it. On sale right now too.

I've had a Lifetime from Wal Mart for a few years now and it's held up well living in the back of my truck or boat.

Just purchased these from academy (25 and 52 quart) a couple months ago. Pretty impressed with them so for.

I have the 72qt Igloo like Frank posted. I'd buy another one.

They just came out with a "lightweight" 32qt
I bought two of their Ultra-Light 52qts for the boat this year. They're great and a steal for $199 ($179 on sale at the time). Only complaint is the feet are black and mark up the white deck. It's easy to wash off, but could be better.

Well that's a bummer

Bought the 26 qt ozark with the cam latches, like the features but it sweats on the bottom and I've never seen it live up to their claims of ice retention.
