270 wsm sight in question

Im headed to kentucky hunting in a week and a half. Put a new scope on my 270 wsm and signted in today. 130 grain ammo. I zeroed it to hit 1.5" high when i put the cross hairs dead on at 100 yards. Can someone with any data tell me where that would hit aiming dead on at 50 yds, 200 and 300yards? Thanks

Probably going to be around 2 high at 50. for longer ranges check the box of ammo you are shooting and most have the ballistics on them. If not, just google search the ammo and you will find plenty of ballistics on them, generally from the maker of the ammo. 100 is the standard zero, so just do the math and you can figure out where your going to be generally. Obviously the length of your barrel and other things are going to have a slight impact, but for shooting at animals it shouldn't matter.

I have no real world experience with the 270 WSM, but from what I've read, at the distances you listed, put the crosshairs where you want the bullet to go and it should be close enough on deer.
You are definitely good from 0-200 yards. The only real world answer is to shoot it at farther distances to know for sure. I've shot mine 270 win at 200 yards set at 1 1/2 high at 100. Hit about dead on at 200 like they say it should. Never shot 300 yards. Not sure I'd hit a deer that far. I'm sure the rifle could, maybe not me.

normally i sight in all my rifles at 1/2 to 1" high at 100... but this 270wsm is super flat shooting. And i have been to this property before and i have shots from 50yards to 300+ if im comfortable.

There are several free ballistic calculator apps available. You need a little more info to be accurate, but I have swarovski's on my phone and hornady has a good one online. You will be somewhere in the neighborhood of .8" high at 200 and 4.2" low at 300. This is based on muzzle velocity of 3300.

It is flat enough to where you don't really have to know. Just do a dead hold out to 300 yards.

Please explain the logic behind this. I've never understood the 1" high at 100 yards theory.
Just pick a sight in distance, and zero your rifle to that distance. Look up the ballistics for all other distances.
EDIT: Winchester not working, try the Remington free trial

Look at the ballistics chart on the box

According to the Remington Shoot calculator- .270 w 130 grain ammo - 1.5" high at 100 yards is the same as a 200 yard sight in.
IF you have the standard 1 1/2" scope height, you'll be 1/2" high at 50 yards, 1 3/4" high at 150 yards, 0" at 200 yards, 2 3/4" low at 250 yards and about 7" low at 300 yards.
Of course, those heights will vary slightly from rifle to rifle.

Here it is for Remington 130gr Core-Lokt. I used this website to figure it out LINK
That was with these parameters. I went back and took another screenshot after I did it, so the zero reset to 100 in this picture, but the data above was from a 200yd zero

we sighted our rifles in at 25yds in military. Put you high at 50 and dead on at 100.
To OP, I shoot a 270wsm, and have it zeroed at 200 also. I'm probably off from the chart, but I was using -5"@300 and -5" every 50 yds there after. I have taken one at 380 yds with it so my math isn't that far off.

According to my ballistics app, at 1.5" high you are zero'd at 225 with a 4" drop at 300. 1/2" high at 50. Based on winchester ballistic silver tips
