Best knot for 60-80lb mono leaders?
Might need a knot for heavier leader in case a school of bluefin tuna just happen to start feeding next to the boat.

I use the PR knot out here in Japan and I’ve pulled in some pretty big tuna,Mahi and wahoo without a single problem.

Double uni to main line then snelled to circle hook

I would use a mini crimp on that. I just don't trust a knot in big mono like that. Unless maybe you're using super glue also.

I just use a uni for everything these days and have yet to ever have a knot failure that I am aware of.

I have problems pulling a palomar knot tight with 30lb power pro sometimes. Can't see myself getting it right too often with 80lb mono

I use the Palomar for braid only. It's easy to tie, but I'm not 100% confident in it. For Mono I use either the Trilene or Uni.

for 60- 80 lb leader you should use flouro not mono, it’s thinner.
80 lb flouro is my standard leader at the rigs, snelled to the hook and either double uni to the braid or uni to a swivel
for monster fish applications you’ll want at least 200 lb leader which you should crimp, not tie

I use the Palomar often. Mostly to secure terminal tackle. My salmon trolling rigs have 5 knots in it. Would be more but I now use tuna mono bumpers to my flashers.

Palomar is my go to anytime I can use it.

I use a Palomar knot on mono, but not the heavier stuff.

I use the San Diego Jam a lot. It's pretty quick and easy.
I just downloaded the netknot app on my phone. For $4 it gives you descriptions, uses and animations of a lot of different knots. It's not only fishing, they also have rope knots and even a few necktie knots.
I always like their images the best when I look up a new knot, but the description and the application are nice to have in the app.

You’ll want fluorocarbon opposed to monofilament.
Uni to uni for leader to main line
Hook, either snell or Palomar.

Modified Albright knot is the GOAT leader knot.

Just make sure you "accidentally" catch the fish...
