Boat Disposal near Baton Rouge.

Does anyone know of a boat disposal company in BR? Or at least where I can dispose of a 16’ fiberglass boat in the area? It’s completely trashed and has small trees growing in it so donating is not really an option.
A friend suggested renting a roll off dumpster and cutting the boat in to pieces, but that seems like too much work and I don’t really want to cut fiberglass in the yard.

you can hire a trash hauler to bust it up and haul it off

I concur, there are plenty of junk haulers that will do it where we are, just get a few quotes.

That actually seems much easier than me trying to deal with it. Thanks for the suggestion.

You'd be surprised what they'll pick up. We donated a junk 26' offshore boat with a broken axle on the trailer years ago. They came and grabbed it with a flatbed tow truck.
Claimed a $5k donation on taxes also....

Nice that you’re doing the right thing. As opposed to dropping it off in a waterway

Ever thought about sinking it in False River and then claiming it as your own private fishing spot?

I have two that I need to dispose of. Thought about putting in the woods with some logs in it and setting it on fire but was told it illegal to burn fiberglass boats.

If you can trailer it, you can bring it to the landfill in Walker. I had a boat that had to be disposed. Obviously no fuel or oil in it. I backed it up near the roll off bin and the guy picked up the bow with a front end loader and I pull the trailer out. He pushed it off and it was gone forever. About $50 at the time.

I have 2 fiber glass boats on property I just bought and have no titles to. Looking to find or hire someone to dispose of properly.

Do you remember who that was?

Depending on condition and how soon you need gone, I may be able to come help you out on disposal for cheap.

I had a boat that got termites.
Took it to the landfill towards Donaldsonville and they picked it off the trailer with a forklift. Was very easy.

Plus it already has the trees growing in it.

Do you perhaps remember the name?

Cut it up with a chain saw. throw a few pieces at a time in the garbage. Might take a while but the price is right.

With the price of boats now days, I am sure there is someone that will take it. Post it as free and someone will want it. My mom had one that has been sitting for 20ish years and a dad picked it up so him and his son could refurbish it.
