Anyone know a processor who sells bulk oyster shells?

Anyone ever bought any before in dump truck quantities?

Any idea of the going price?

Call Crystal Seas in Pass Christian. They have a mountain of them behind their processing plant.

the processor over here in BR next to my office loads them into garbage cans on a trailer and hauls them out to somebody's property to dump...

maybe worth a call

Isn't there a business that does custom rugs in that area? I seem to remember going to that area before to pick a big rug for my boss

Hunt's Oyster House in Panama City sells them and crushes them for driveway gravel. Always thought that was genius.

Crushed oyster shells aren't hell on tires?

Use to be very common in Mobile Bay area. I know my uncles house had an oyster shell driveway when I was a kid. Never seemed to be an issue with tires.

It's crushed pretty fine. It's what their whole parking lot is made of. This link has a few pics LINK

Whole oyster shells are death for tires. Ground up they're probably not bad.

This and if you have a dog, it's going to stink and have shells all over your yard.

We used to get them for free to make roads in the swamp. The shells pack into the mud. They catch the clay instead of letting it slop around. Really good stuff for the swamp

They priced me $30 per yard, loaded into my truck. Seems high, but I'm glad to know it's an option.

No Colors I would think having someone haul them from the coast to you would be cost prohibitive. However I have access to a large dump trailer if you need it.

Down around Cocodrie the prices are high for delivery, not so much stone/shell. I'm looking too for limestone, can't remember the #.

When we were kids, my parents would order a truck load of clam shells for our driveway every several years. The stench from those things was straight out of hell.
