Costa Del Mar warranty question

I have a pair of brines and the rubber has come off in sections. My other pair, the harpoons, has a temple that will not screw in.
Are both cases covered under warranty?

How old are they? I have had like 50/50 luck with getting free warranty work at costa. Worst case scenario you get some really cheap replacements

Probably not anymore..at one time they would have been. They require the receipt now and charge for warranty work. I have quit them...I have been a loyal customer for years and I will continue to back door their lifetime warranty as long as Amazon sales the identical frames and lenses but I will not be buying any additional products. They no longer honor the original lifetime warranty.

I just submitted a warranty request on Monday and they replied today. The rubber on mine had separated from the frame in the entire nose area. Mine were covered although they were a discontinued model so they gave me a free pair of a similar model. Can't comment on the other issue.
Edit: I did not have my receipt but they covered it.

I sent in a pair that was about 5 years old, all the rubber had come off. They fixed and sent back that was last year and they still working fine. I think i went to their website and filled a form out and put it in the box when i mailed it. It took 2 wks maybe, but this was before the corona.

2 months ago i sent 2 pair back. One pair was a black pair i had for 6-7 yrs. Rubber worn off... amd other was camo pair id had 4-5 yrs. Lost em in woods, found em 3 days later. Squirrel chewed legs up. No receipt for either, and they replaced with 2 brand new pair of my choice because they didnt make those anymore. I just paid shipping

I just filled out warranty information of a pair today, rubber coming of frame. I will post decision when I receive it.

I've been sending in Costas for years and they always repair it as long as the lens is not the issue. I've sent the same pair in about 5 times over several years and they always put my same lens on a new frame at no charge besides the initial 10 bucks. The last time I sent them in they gave me an entirely new pair, same style.
I sent one pair in once with one shattered lens and they gave me a replacement price. It wasn't worth it so they just sent them back.
Edit: I never had a receipt but once you create an account with them, all of your past repairs show up so I guess they just take all of that inforation.

I just had the earpiece break off on my pair of fisch's and sent in a repair form. I listed them as not under warranty, they sent me a reply a few days later saying they were covered. Said my model was discontinued so I got to pick out a similar pair.

Last ones I sent in they said it was discontinued and offered to sell me a pair at almost new price. Can probably find some on sale cheaper. I now wear Smith optical.

Just had two pairs covered in full. One being the rubber nose piece came off. Both were discontinued so let me choose whatever pair I wanted. Great experience as usual.

I just had a pair of Brines that I broke the arm off of replaced with a brand new pair with new lenses and all for free. Then I submitted a repair request for a pair of Blackfin with a cracked lens and they want $195 to fix! I only paid $169 for them brand new! As I posted in another Costa thread, Costa was bought out by Luxottica. The parent company to Rayban and a bunch of other designer brands. I figured it wouldn’t be long before their reputation was ruined.

I have a pair of saltbreaks up there right now. Replacing frame free of charge because the rubber nose piece was coming off. No receipt needed and they were pretty old.

If this is true that they got bought out by Rayban then I believe the service will go down. I tried to get a pair of Rayban's replaced because both lenses were peeling and it was only about 8 months old. They flat out refused. I had receipt and original box.
I always had good customer service with Costa. Hopefully, that doesn't change.

I just got mine back from Costa, took about a month to the day. Rubber nose and around lens was pealing off. Sent me a brand new pair. I guess what I have are discontinued. They were 6 years old. No charge.

People don't like it when you talk negatively about costas but I had a lense crack on a brand new pair a few weeks ago. I was wearing them and heard a pop .. anyway I sent in all the info and pictures.. you could still read brine in white on the inside. Thats the first thing to wear off. I got a offer to fix them for 179.. i paid 169 for them . I'M currently look for a different brand with glass lenses.
