100% politics

Completely done due to sellers of corn and rice bran and deep pockets

And a little Ted freaking Neugent thrown in there as well

What isn’t being talked about is the decrease in property values CWD is and will continue to cause

There isn’t a line of folks waiting to get into Winter Quarters anymore. Probably a line of people wanting to get out Same with the big Ms river clubs

I hunt in Tensas and quite enjoyed not baiting this year at all. Wish they'd ban it statewide.

Figured this would happen sooner or later when the farm lobby got involved. Kern is too big a business around here.

I’ve enjoyed not having any sign of hogs on my lanes.

Or my cameras going off all night with pics of said hogs.

No sir, winter quarters value went down because they came in there and wiped out the herd.

CWD is a sham, a money grab, nothing more!

My biggest issue is there is no defined objective, end date etc with all the "stop baiting, kill everything" response.
Its a power grab that could destroy your hunting rights and property value all just because some official feels like it

On the flip side, I dont like corn piles and hunting is better without it. But ill take that over too big govt.

Hogs havent gotten much worse on my place since corn ban as well

Yes it’s true, LDWF came in and killed a lot of deer. If I’m not mistaken it was 300

300? Don’t they have 7k acres? Thats a deer per 20 acres! That’s a blessing!

I don’t know what they have, and I could be way off on my numbers. I will find out.

Deer censuses in that region are commonly showing over 1 deer per 5 acres. 700 off of 8k acres isn’t horrible.

I’ve done a little more research on this and didn’t like what I found.

Before I had ever heard of CWD I knew that politics and game management are not good fits. Later I appreciated the model of wildlife agencies that advised on policies. As I learned more, I held my nose at the model of appointed wildlife commissions that were somewhat of a go-between.

What’s happened in LA is the legislature has passed a resolution about CWD. But did they have the backing of the Commission or the LDWF?

Also the capping of samples is a big L!

Maybe camp fees will decrease but property values aren’t decreasing. This is flat out false.
