Thinking of purchasing a camp on False River. Any feedback on where is the better location there? Any other information fire away.

More information may get you better answers. What are you looking for in a camp? Are you trying to fish, jet ski, general boating, just drinking on the dock?

All of the above. Generally just a place for family and friends to be on the water with a nice camp, wharf, etc.
Not so worried about fishing as much as water activities.

A friend was in the same boat as you. Like I told him, the place isn’t getting any bigger, the prices stay about the same, or only going up. Find what you want and enjoy. Said he had looked for years. I said, that’s years of enjoyment you and your family missed out on.

I have two friends (who don't know each other) who bought camps at False River about a year apart. Both families used the camps a lot during the first summer - the next summer they used their camps less, and every summer thereafter they used them less and less.
Both sold their camps after 5-6 years. Maintenance (including grass cutting) became too much of a chore and insurance was apparently pretty pricey.
I have no idea if either made made a profit on the sale.

False River is only around 10 miles long, so you can get most places quickly.
Fishing is better on the ends. Skiing is done in the middle area.
New Roads side is busier and louder, but also has quick access to groceries, restaurants, banks, etc.
Island side is quieter, cheaper, and has less traffic.

I don't think you can go wrong on location. You might be closer to a grocery store on the land side, but even if your on the island side, its not that long of a trip to downtown or the bigger grocery stores. Camps seem to sell quickly once put up for sale. Camps on the land side seem nicer and more modern. Island side is regentrifying.

New Roads side is busier and has majority of the stores and restaurants. Island side is very quiet and secluded. Both sides are what and what, all about preference.
A lot of people have these notions about one side vs the other, but you've got people like Todd Graves having mansions of camps on the island side.
