Every damned year (although pretty early this year [just like the love bugs]) the eat all the outdoor cat's food, shite all over everything on the patio and make a god-awful racket.

And for whatever reason, my serial killer outdoor cat that is merciless to squirrels, snakes, lizards and every other damned bird won't bat an eye.

Watched a show on the OC with the guy that eats anything and had another guy come in with a bird of prey. They would drive around the neighborhood and when they saw a starling in a yard, they would release the bird out the passenger side window and that sob went straight for the starling and got em. They brought the birds home and ate em. Not much meat but didn't look too bad. You need that guy with the bird.

What the heck is a grackle? I gather it's some type of bird but that's all I got.

Wiki

quote:

The common grackle (Quiscalus quiscula) is an icterid bird found in large numbers through much of North America. It was first described in 1758 by Carl Linnaeus and has three officially recognized subspecies. Adult common grackles have a long and dark bill, pale yellow eyes, and a long tail. Adults often have a bluish iridescent appearance on their head, this feature being more pronounced on males. Common grackles can be found widely across North America east of the Rocky Mountains and are highly adaptable to their environment.

They don’t bother me because they don’t come on my patio. They just stay in a big flock in the yard or trees but they can make some racket when there’s about 30-40 of them.

They tear up the front post at my house making a nest.
Loud in the morning.
I have a high end PCP air gun.
It’s a me vs them sniper game now.
They are smarter than you think and spook easy after you kill a few of them.

They're damned smart, and ballsy. I will be sitting on the patio and they'll fly in, see me, and start devising a new attack angle immediately.

Outdoor Channel. Don't know if he's the meat-eater guy or somebody else. Just happen to turn it on and was on. I think the bird was a kestrel.

When I was a kid I built a bird trap. It worked. You can catch them and then render a judgement whatever that might be.

I've seen a lot of videos on this. Kestrels seem to be the raptor of choice for this kind of hunting
