In the market for a new zero turn and looking at this mower in 60inch with the Kohler engine. Called the local dealer and said it is 4999. Any reviews on this mower?

I have one with the Kawasaki motor I picked up used this year. Bigger than what I needed but seemed like a great deal. Strong mower and cuts really well. Only thing I don't like is there are no grease points.

I have a 42 with the 24HP Kohler. Runs great no complaints.

Great to hear. We have 2-3 acres to cut so glad to hear it is a sturdy light commercial grade it sounds. We may not need the 60, do yall happen to know the price difference in the 52 and the 60?
ETA: Are they EFI?

All the mower brands use the same parts
The only differences are generally the frame, deck, and spindles

If I can piggy back in this thread...
I came across someone selling a 34 in gravely zero with a 15.5hp brigs motor on it. It's small but I don't have a big yard so it'd be perfect. Anyone have any experience with that motor?

OP, don't buy a Gravely. We are in the process of replacing all of the bolts in the motor mounts because they keep coming out.

The gravely is an awesome machine

Absolutely fabulous machine.
I got a new 60" Gravely ZT HD about 2 years ago. Use it to cut 1 acre lawn. Around many trees, house & over bumpy lawn - about 1.5 hours per cut. Uses only about 1.5 to 2 gal. out of the 6 gal. gas tank each time.
Sorry, I have the 2 cylinder Kawasaki (24 HP, IIRC) motor. I do not know about Kohler. Should be very similar. I do know construction of mower is superb. While I usually step from the seat "deck" directly to the ground to try to avoid ruining something, my 200 lb. weight has stepped directly onto the mower deck before stepping to the ground many, many times. Mower deck is solid as a rock. I'm always amazed how sturdy the all welded deck is at any height adjustment.
Well put together top of the line residential machine. Yes, it was about $5,000. Paid several hundred extra to add trailer hitch, dual headlights, adjustable comfort seat (for bumps & ruts in my yard) - all dealer installed. Of course there's also that tax thingy to add to that.
Still, market is very competitive - great to see they are still around $5,000. Again, great machine. Starts immediately, even after no running for 3 - 4 months on first try in Spring. Has not used a drop of oil or individual wheel transmission fluid (from easy to check single tank) in 2 years.
Hope I helped.

As someone who has and still gets a lot of experience on ZTs I can tell you that the Kohler and KW motors are very similar when it comes to power and reliability provided the horsepower is still the same.. can't go wrong with either Kohler or Kawasaki. The B&S has a bad reputation around here, but I don't see it.. they aren't nearly as powerful as the previously mentioned motors, but they are very reliable as well
I just ordered a 74" Dixie Chopper that has a 36HP motor.. can't wait to fire up that beast, but right now I use a 60" Badboy with a 30HP Kawasaki and absolutely love it..

You sure it isn't a 16.5 Briggs? I have this same mower and have no complaints.

I have been around a lot of gravely equipment. Never known nay to give this problem. In fact have been very pleased with the Gravely performance.

We have 12 of them. 8 sit downs, and 4 stand-ups. They've given us fits since the day we got them.

You sure you don't have more acreage than that? 1.5 hours for 1 acre seems like a really long time for a 60" deck. Are you going really slow or something? I'm no expert so I could be way off, but the yard guys around me are cutting 1/4-1/2 residential lots in 10-15 mins and they probably aren't using 60" decks.

I cut 2.5 acres of grass, trim and blow in 2 hours with a 60". Lots of bumps and maybe a dozen trees.

I have the exact same mower and cut 1 acres in 30 minutes. Not too bumpy and once I make a turn it's fast as it'll go.

Gravely makes good mowers but I wouldn't buy weed eater string much less a mower from Central Outdoor Power Sales who is the local dealer.

That makes more sense. I was just trying to figure out why it took 1.5 hours for 1 acre for the other guy on a 60 inch deck because imo that may not be fair for most to use as a comparison when deciding what deck size they need.

Try these guys. Good people.
BAMS Ent.
Gravely site.

I ended up getting one today. Thanks for all the input.
Wouldnt buy anything from BAMS if my life depended on it. Always seem to be snobby to me. Paiges in Mandeville is the best around IMO.
