I've got a little experience with red dots. But mostly focused on carry optics on the smaller side. I have a Holosun EPS carry on my EDC gun. Can't complain.

Recently purchased a Stacatto P and looking for a larger dot and to possibly shoot some monthly competitions at the range I'm a member at.

I originally wasn't going to worry about the cost too much. Buy once, cry once.
Came across the newer RMR HD as the frontrunner which gets you a larger window while retaining of the durability of the RMR that the SRO apparently lacks. But at $650 and on backorder damned near everywhere, it's a hard pill to swallow. Especially when I'm seeing a lot of good reviews on the Holosun 507comp.

I'd rather buy an American made product for the sake of buying American over Chinese. I don't have any concerns over the Holosun quality based on my current experience. Even with the SRO only being marginally more expensive than the Holosun, I have a hard time spending the extra money when there are some durability concerns. I can pretty much get the Holosun with the proprietary Stacatto mounting plate for the price of the Trijicon or less and the only thing I may be missing out on is the Made in the USA factor (and maybe the RMR HD has a better auto adjust sensor).

Wondering if those on the board have any experience with these optics.

Used for competitions = 507Comp

Large clear window. Crisp dot. It's not as ugly as the HD on a Gucci gun. The comparison of the SRO and 507 features and cost doesn't lead me to the SRO.

Can't go wrong with the SRO. Don't get the RMR if you want to use it for competitions. You will want the largest window you can get. There are several local shooters running the 507comp. I know one of them had issues, but holosun shipped him a new dot. It went out again and he switched to an SRO.

Don't sleep on Sig optics either. The romeo 3max is pretty legit. Designed and used by one of the best pistol shooters in the world, Max Michel.

I have a Romeo X-Pro compact on my P322 and I really like the sight a lot.
In the short time I've had it, I've beat the hell out of it and its been rock steady.

To be clear it is the new RMR HD, which is not quite as big as the SRO, but larger than the standard RMR.

I have wanted the 1MOA SRO for a few years and never pulled the trigger for my 10/22.
I no a lot of ppl don’t like them but I think I just need to buy one and decide for myself. Really like the fact that you can buy a 1MOA dot and don’t have to settle for the 2MOA where I would just go aimpoint H2 or T2 (I have two of them and absolutely love em)

I have all 3. If I had to choose one it would be the SRO hands down. It’s not as tough as the RMR but it’s still tough as nails.

That would be my choice out of those three as well. On a side note, I just picked up the Canik TTI Combat with the Mecanik MO3 dot already on it. It's pretty impressive for the price. The window is HUGE and very clear. The dot is crisp and buttons are solid. I haven't heard of anyone with one yet so reliability is up in the air.

Shoot a mailbox red dot and you'll never go back to open window.

Primary arms has the Steiner MPS for like $369 right now that's a a screaming deal.

I have the regular rmr and enjoy it. It takes getting use to on the draw. I wanted bomb proof as it is alway with me on the farm and I’m not careful. Had it a year.

I guess I need to think harder on the SRO. It was the original choice, but then you start researching and end up with too many options .

The SRO is the most popular competition optic for a reason.

Its great. Trijicon is also kind of the king of polistol optics. The new RCR is supposed to be pretty incredible.

I get what you're saying... but did you post this from your American made phone or CPU?

True, but in this scenario, there actually is an American made version that exists and it's quality is top of the line. It just costs nearly twice as much. Now sub $1k for all options, it's still viable option and not being made in China buys it some leniency on the price. If America ever made a phone that was equal quality and not thousands more, I'd be interested.
