South of Chadron, NE - Day 2
41 degrees, calm, spitting rain till 5:30 AM.
Sitting on alfalfa field edge with Jake and submissive hen dekes.
Day 1 was 25mph winds, saw a few jakes and hens in creek bottom hiding from wind like me.

Good luck! Went this morning before work. Had a Tom on the neighboring property, no luck getting him over. Had a few Jakes and hens clucking nearby, but not successful.
Hunt late morning early afternoon if possible. Son shot a Tom yesterday at 1:30 after he shut down work early. 10 1/2 inch beard stud.

Sounds like you were just deer hunting turkeys

Flipped back into the creek at lunch. Struck up a bird. It gobbled once. It did not come in hot, but it did come close enough. Maybe a hybrid.
