Putting a cutting blade on a Stihl Combi-tool

Anybody done this? I have some brush I want to clean up. I've never tackled this so I'm not sure how it works. Does the trimmer head come off totally?

I would not do it because the description of these things all say:
quote:
For use with a brushcutter equipped with bicycle handles, double shoulder harness and limit stop.

Yes trimmer head comes off completely. Mine has a small hole near the shaft you have to stick a small screwdriver down to keep the trimmer head from spinning.

To clarify I have the brush or grass cutting blade. Mine basically is a 4 pointed star, not overly sharp. I haven't used the circular saw blade but would like to try them out.
Good thing about the Kombi system is you could buy an extra trimmer head piece and keep them both rigged up so they just switch right out. That's what I do, though I use my brush cutter and trimmer every time I mow.

I have the larger motor Stihl Combo unit, used the saw blade on it for years works like a champ on brush. Much easier than throwing a chain on the chain saw attachment. When I bought mine I spoke with the dealer about the saw blade attachment specifically, mine was "supposed" to be designed for it also but no handle bars more of a weedeater design.
If I wasn't clear I LOVE it with a saw blade on it.

You can absolutely put the brush cutter attachments on any Stihl straight shaft trimmer, bike handle or not. For liability purposes they have to recommend you not use it without the bike handle set up. You will need the brush cutter kit for your particular model and the blade.
