I am looking at a used 2019 bay boat with a 200 HP four stroke Suzuki. I am not familiar with Suzuki outboards and would like to ask for any feedback you could give.

Thanks!

Bought a used 2006 Suzuki DF140 with 250hrs on it 7 years ago, has 1,000 hours on it now and no complaints; I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

I have some friends who own and 75% favorable. Its a must to have a local mechanic who works on them. It appears they are few and far between.

Suzuki was my plan B if I couldn’t find a Yamaha, and I’m not sure exactly why. They are really close, IMO. My dad has Had Twin Suzuki’s for about 10 years now and they are as dependable as any motor I’ve relied upon. If you like the boat, don’t hesitate bc of a Zuke on the back.

I re-powered my 22’ Blue Wave with a 200 Suzuki and I love it.

I had a Suzuki around 2004 and kept it until 2010. It was a great motor, but it ended up having issues with corrosion. This was a problem with Suzukis at that time. I have been told that the problem was corrected. I would not hesitate to buy one now.

Last boat had a 350 zuke and I loved it. Would not hesitate to go zuke again.

Yep, got bit by that as well on a 2007. As soon as I told the outboard guy the symptoms he just shook his head; he'd seen it before. They would corrode until you had a hole in between the water jacket and one of the cylinder walls.

I've heard it's been corrected as well, but I'd take a Yamaha or Honda.

I have had a Suzuki 200 on my pontoon boat since 2015. No problems.

Saw an Evenrude ad pop up at the bottom of the thread. I read another thread and it was not there. Tried three more times and each time that ad was only after this thread.

They are great motors. That’s a fact.

I own a small Suzuki and it is one of the best outboards I've ever owned in 57 years. Suzuki is one of the most dependable outboards on the market today.
Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha, and Tohatsu are the best outboards made today. All of Mercury's engines 30 hp and below are made by Tohatsu.

I’ve got a 1999 model DF. Other than a gasket and an impeller, it’s never been in the shop. It’s never left me stranded.
