Barrels and reliability and track record as a major choice for govmt contracts and contractors.

They don’t have anything super spectacular about them. Just a well rounded complete package. They aren’t the best at anything, just pretty good at everything. You get factory QC that you can’t get piecing one together yourself.
Only negative I have to speak of is the trigger. It’s an expensive gun that should come with something better than the trigger that’s in it. $150 gets you an SSA-E and solves the issue.
The Geissele Super Duty comes with one of their triggers. I would put the Super Duty just about dead even with DD in that “pretty good at everything” category. It’s a toss up between the two guns if you’re looking at a standard 16” barrel rifle. DD or GS might clearly do something better than the other when considering pistol/SBR configurations.

Get the best and get a HK

They used to be an incredible value proposition but not anymore

They have above average items at almost all levels that are military tested. You can build better for cheaper, but may run into tolerance stacking issues.

If I'm going to send that much. I am going to get a JP rifle

I’m a believer in DD barrels.
Pair a fully assembled DD upper with an Anderson lower and you’d be set.

I got a Larue and beg to differ, but I think when you start getting into this upper tier platform of AR's, you probably aren't gonna be disappointed with any of them.

I had a Larue before I bought the HK. Larue was a good gun no doubt.
I’m like u, when u get to the upper they are all good guns

I have one, never a failure but basically what Whiskey Dent said.
Mine has a two stage trigger and it slings a disgusting spread "IMHO" at 100 yards using 55gr battle ammo. Yeah 1-7 twist is happier with 77gr but of course it's more expensive and I have more 55gr than 77gr match.
All that being said I rarely reach for it when I go shooting. I don't dislike it, it's a nice gun I'm proud to have it.
Providing I wanted another 5.56 I would slam some PSA blemished items together with a 1/9 twist and polish the stock trigger & buy more shifty battle ammo with the savings.

I would say it's this. It's not going to have the fanciest tech components, but you know they'll be built well. Not going to shoot sub MOA groups as milspec is like 4 MOA. Barrels are known to be good, but how many people are truly putting 15,000 rounds thru them. I'll eventually have one, but their value is probably lost on most people to be honest.

Went JP on my large frame, but really wanted an sr-25... but I'll be damned if I'm forced to jump through KAC hoops to get parts. I say that as someone with an uncle in Titusville with 35 years of law enforcement under his belt, and he sees Reed frequently at their local Sonny's

DD is pretty good but a bit overpriced for most applications IMO.
