I am in the market, and I'm seeing people enjoying the Kuna, APC9, sp5, and scorpion Evo.

2.5k before any customization seems pretty damn high, so I'm thinking the Nexus Scorpion Micro may be the way to go, but just wanted to see who has hands on experience.

I’m glad I’m not the only one on this board. I was trying to figure out what that means. Maybe personal defense weapon? Then I looked up the guns and they look like toys used to be JI Joe as a kid.

PDW - personal defensive weapon.

In another life, I was issued a mini Uzi and hated it. Finicky weapon system and not easy to control. I was later trained on the MP5 which was far superior - except for size.
But for my needs, one of the Shockwave/Tac-14 12 gauge weapons might be better in some conditions. Being able to select from a variety of ammo is a consideration.
But what is wrong with a good quality M-4 or other A/R based weapon?
I do not see the reason for choosing a weak pistol cartridge when stronger options are available.

I'm also in the market for this and have changed my mind at least a dozen times in the last two months.

I have a scorpion micro and it is one of the easiest guns I have ever handled. I recommend it for new shooters as it's much more forgiving then starting with a pistol as far as recoil etc.

I think the idea is ammo consolidation. Beretta was onto something when they made the CX4 storm that took 92 mags. You could use the same ammo and mags. Was ahead of its time.

For pure unadulterated fun, SP5k with a Lee lower and SD3G through a CAT MOB.

The theory is a compact weapon, larger than a pistol but smaller than a rifle or even true carbine - essentially a semi-automatic submachinegun sized platform, but firing a carbine/light rifle round.

These people should consider SBR, but I know the regulators have them scared. For me, PDWs are too niche to consider. A pistol is much, much easier to carry. A carbine/rifle is much, much more capable. This is a superficially "middle" option that does nothing particularly well.

Having said that, some folks love them and to each his or her own.

(ETA: If they were select-fire, it might be an option for specific use scenarios, i.e. inside a vehicle, or contingency weapon while you're also carrying a heavy load, etc., but I might still consider a carbine with select fire in that instance.)

Own both the APC9 and the SP5k.

either are great but the SP5k was a bucket list gun for me and it's shoots very, very good.
I just put a retractable brace on it last week but I haven't shot it yet. The APC9 also has a brace.

I had a bunch of MP5 mags so I didn't have to buy anymore but extra mags are pretty pricey.
My APC9 takes Glock mags. I have a bunch of the 30 round and a bunch of 15 - 17 round as well that it takes.

Of those two, It's a toss up but I'd grab the SP5k 1st. It's never had a single hang up and the nostalgia factor.

I now need to put a picatinny rail on it and a red dot.
