Is there a particular time to get the best deals? Are boat prices like other things still inflated these days?

Depending on what you are trying to buy, but sometimes late summer to early fall as people don’t want to pay to store a boat they aren’t using either..

Winter, without a doubt, here in the south.

I have been watching used boat prices coming down on marketplace the last few months. Not pre Covid prices but much better than it had been the last few years on older >5 years old rigs.

Looking for a center console around 19'. I was looking at a Carolina Skiff or similar. As I'm fairly new to boating, not sure what other brands to look at for a similar boat in that general price range. I would prefer used just due to budget.

No one is ever happier than the first day the buy a new boat, except for the day they sell that boat.

When you find one that fits your needs and is withing your budget. May be a few better prices during winter months but folks ain't giving them away, they will wait for spring.

I lived on a houseboat on a COE lake north of Atlanta while I was in college. Surprisingly around the end of July if not the middle of July, just after the 4th, there were always a bunch of boats for sale in the marina I was in. Folks would get tired of paying slip rent and, having used the boat sparingly during the summer, decide its time to sale. Having lots of boats for sale did not do much to drive down prices though. Selection may be slightly better but prices are what they are in my experience.

Boat model year changes August 1 for lots if manufacturers. Meaning anything left on the sales floor will now be prior year model. August-November you could probably find some good deals. When it gets close to spring people will probably hold on until selling season/boat show season which is January-February

What’s your budget? Have a 22’ nautic star 224xts I’d consider selling

If used and paying in cash around tax time is always the best.

Looking to pay cash, budget of about $25k.
Also, factoring in that I have a Tacoma and tow capacity is 6400 lbs, so can't go too big. This will be my first boat, so trying not to break the bank.

What kind of boat? Duck boats = after the season.
My advice is to lay down till the feeling passes.
