Windham WW-15 300 Blackout AR Pistol With Brace

I just looked at one of these earlier today that my coworker purchased. Seemed like a well built gun. Lifetime transferable warranty. Anyone on here own or have any dealings with this manufacturer? The gun I believe has 9-1/2” barrel. Very compact. Kind of an interesting backside story behind the people that manufacture these guns.

THE WINDHAM WEAPONRY STORY
A team of the finest firearms manufacturers in the U.S.A. has been re-assembled to bring to market the highest quality AR type rifle possible. These good Maine folks – most of whom are former employees of Bushmaster Firearms – offer many years of experience in the industry, and all look forward to working with you, to serving your needs, and to building you a great rifle.
When the people who bought Bushmaster in 2006 decided to move it “lock, stock and barrel” out of Maine to New York in 2011, the original Bushmaster owner, Mr. Richard Dyke was left with both a dilemma and an opportunity. Almost to the day of the 2011 move, Mr. Dyke’s non-compete clause expired. He still owned the property where Bushmaster had been built, and knew all the workers – now laid off – who had helped him build it. He made a decision to “get back in the game” and promptly put an email out to many of his former employees and friends asking if there was interest in joining him for a new project.
With a resounding “yes” of support, he gathered the financing in two days, and started bringing people back into their long-time Windham manufacturing home. Phoenix-like, Windham Weaponry was on the rise. Within three months, the first productions models of the new Windham Weaponry line had been perfected and delivered. Quality, fit, finish, durability, accuracy and value were all superb – giving credence to Windham Weaponry’s motto “The Quality Goes In, Before The Rifle Goes Out”.
The firearms industry and consumers welcomed this new effort warmly, old friends and contacts were re-established, and sales grew. In less than a year and a half, Windham Weaponry had brought back almost 70 employees, benchmarked impressive sales numbers, and established their name as one of the pre-eminent firearms manufacturers in the country.
The press heralded it as “truly an American success story”, and all due to the vision of its founder. Further growth for Windham Weaponry has already been planned and implemented.
“The Quality Goes In, Before The Rifle Goes Out”.

I know nothing about the manufacturer but do you already own a firearm in .300 blackout? The availability and cost of that ammo keeps me from buying/building anything in .300 blackout

No sir. I don’t know anything about this kind of gun. My conceal carry weapon of choice is a Sig 365XL. My coworker bought it because he thinks it’s a great shooting gun and he got a good deal on the price.

300Blk was made to be shot short barrel, suppressed, and subsonic. That's where the round excels. Great for home defense or short range hunting.

The consensus on reddit is Windham is a solid mid-tier manufacturer. Essentially just the old Bushmaster crew so the quality should be there.

I think my coworker bought it to have something compact in his truck. Something of good quality at an affordable price. From the sounds of it he purchased the weapon for home defense and to shoot pigs with. Wild pigs have overrun his property. He shot a few rounds through it. I don’t think I’d want to be on the business end of that weapon should a group try to mob him.

They are better than most of the middle tier manufactures. Decent parts, decent QC. You really need to jump up to LMT or similar to get a better rifle and the cost associated with that jump doesn't make sense to a lot of people.
Best thing you can do is go put 500-1000 rounds through it in a weekend. I know these days that is kind of a pricey proposition, but really ammo is the expensive part of the hobby, not the guns.

I picked up some subsonic 300bo for $1.10 2 weeks ago, which is pretty close to pre-pandemic pricing. Granted, you’re not going to want to go burn 1000 rounds every weekend, but that’s a lot more manageable.

You know that’s really good advice. Sometimes the most simple suggestion is the best advice there is. I don’t even know if I need one of these I just thought it looked like a practical firearm to own.

Windham is top notch stuff. As stated above, it's all the old guys from Bushmaster when BM was shite.
They're just awful at marketing so nobody really knows about their products. Their rollmark is also nothing special, which l, belive it or not, makes a difference for some.

I've had good results hunting w/ Fiocchi 125gr sst in 300bo on pigs. Its more affordable than barnes vor-tx as well.

I’ve had one of their AR-15’s since 2012 and I’m still happy with it no problems but I’ve taken it apart and cleaned/maintained regularly.
