Alec Baldwin ‘Rust’ trial live updates: Judge dismisses his involuntary manslaughter trial
NBC
Does this surprise anyone?

The judge dismissed Baldwin's trial, agreeing with his lawyers' argument that the prosecution had hidden evidence related to ammunition.
Baldwin had faced up to 18 months in prison if had been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of "Rust" in 2021. He denied the charge.
"Rust" armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who is serving an 18-month sentence for her role in Hutchins' had been expected to testify in Baldwin's case.

Not at all, but the civil case should be fun

I figured there would be a glitch and yes there was. I wonder if he was acting when he was crying or was it real when the case was dismissed?
Seems fishy.

But we can still call him a convicted killer on manslaughter.
That’s how it works in liberal world.

Good decision. It’s was a ridiculous case to begin with.
No one should be tried over something like that.

He pointed a loaded gun at someone and killed her. It wasn't a scene, he just pointed at that woman and killed her.

Good for Baldwin. What a ridiculous move by the DA to try this case. It was full of holes from the get go.

Yes, the armour, who is serving an eighteen month sentence, didn't do her job correctly. Why do you think they have that position on staff?

know everyone here hates Baldwin, but multiple actors, including Jensen Ackles, said live rounds were found on set.
The dude is using the sfp defense. People die tragically all over the world. No need to point the finger.
If you are pointing guns and firing them at people, make sure it’s not fricking loaded. Hopefully this jag off learns this because supposedly he had a live round too?
Where is the ban guns on movie sets crowd? Should be these dudes.

Picture this scenario in your minds:
Trump is filming a documentary about his campaign. One of the segments is about the Second Amendment and a stage hand turns to trump and hands him a pistol that is intended as a prop for the segment. Trump points the pistol at someone and pulls the trigger, and a live round pierces their throat and jugular artery, resulting in swift death.
Does this same judge dismiss charges against Trump?

Who decided to run the shoot on a shoestring budget and was directly involved in hiring the production staff?
Baldwin may not be criminally liable but I feel certain he has significant civil liability.
The whole production was a shitshow and it cost one person their life.

No
You know some judge out there would put a judgment on the gun maker though.

I can’t stand him, but dude is a Hollywood dipshite that had a live round in a prop gun. While he didn’t respect the gun, no way he loaded it, as he is above that…The prop girl that was responsible for that gun should be the one behind bars IMO.

While accurate - It was still incredibly stupid and careless to not check a real weapon before pointing it at someone and firing it.
