My question is, why do the Jews require special status?

Hate speech is protected speech under the first Ammendment.

quote:

hate speech can only be criminalized when it directly incites imminent criminal activity or consists of specific threats of violence targeted against a person or group.

Sort of ironic that the GOP would go all in on censorship this day and age.

You prosecute people for crimes not speech. Why are we not enforcing the current laws and then creating new laws that can be twisted and manipulated into something that can be used against other religious faiths.

IF someone say "The Jews killed Jesus", will they be violating the new law? My understanding is that phrase is specifically cited in the language of the bill.

This is a violation of the equal protection clause.

You know why.

It isn't about "hate speech", its about making anything said about anti Israel (funding for Israel) illegal.

Private media, social media, and the internet as a whole has made the "process" of MIC money laundering that has gone on since WWII more transparent then ever. The MIC and deep state are very very annoyed right now. They want to squash this problem like a roach, and the things being proposed right now are proof of that. Control of the internet, limiting freedom of speech, shutting down private media, banning tiktok, etc.

What difference does that make. I'm not antisemitic.

I thought this was a free country.

Eh, it is all part of the erosion of our civil liberties...

Inciting violence is already covered under a whole host of laws, no reason to make it Jew specific....

Where does the bill criminalize speech?

This bill has nothing to do with anything it says it does. What they are trying to prevent is the big picture view of Israel. If enough people have anti Israeli sentiment, then people will vote in representatives and senators that represent those views. Once you have a House and Senate full of Marjorie Taylor Greens, the funding will be cut off. They can't have that, and that is when the implementation of a dictatorship communist government truly begins.

You're right, but late IMO.

They've been selectively targeting people for "hate speech" for a long time now.

This is what is criminalized...

quote:

Calling for, aiding, or justifying the killing or harming of Jews in the name of a radical ideology or an extremist view of religion.

Making mendacious, dehumanizing, demonizing, or stereotypical allegations about Jews as such or the power of Jews as collective — such as, especially but not exclusively, the myth about a world Jewish conspiracy or of Jews controlling the media, economy, government or other societal institutions.

Accusing Jews as a people of being responsible for real or imagined wrongdoing committed by a single Jewish person or group, or even for acts committed by non-Jews.

Denying the fact, scope, mechanisms (e.g. gas chambers) or intentionality of the genocide of the Jewish people at the hands of National Socialist Germany and its supporters and accomplices during World War II (the Holocaust).

Accusing the Jews as a people, or Israel as a state, of inventing or exaggerating the Holocaust.

Accusing Jewish citizens of being more loyal to Israel, or to the alleged priorities of Jews worldwide, than to the interests of their own nations.

Denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination, e.g., by claiming that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavor.

Applying double standards by requiring of it a behavior not expected or demanded of any other democratic nation.

Using the symbols and images associated with classic antisemitism (e.g., claims of Jews killing Jesus or blood libel) to characterize Israel or Israelis.

Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.

Holding Jews collectively responsible for actions of the state of Israel

This covers anything negative whether true or not about the state of Israel, and it can all be tied back to the funding support.

Of course.

Speech that everyone agrees with needs no protection.

No. They won't sieze all the new testaments. But basically, if you read the passion story in the wrong place you could be prosecuted.

You have to take a tour of Auschwitz with Jonathan Greenblatt and Rabbi Schmuley Boteach.

The opinion grows and spreads like wildfire, then eventually representatives that support Israel are voted out of office. Then funding bills are no longer passed. This is not permitted by the people who run are country, and they will take the steps to ensure that doesn't happen. Putting someone in jail for something they say is not even a blip on the radar.

But where in the bill does it say you'll be jailed for saying something deemed anti-semitic or for reading a passage from the Bible?
