Arnold Schwarzenegger addressed the controversial comments nearly two years later. Arnold Schwarzenegger has been successful in many ventures over the course of his career. From bodybuilding to acting to politics, Schwarzenegger has held himself to a high standard and has always delivered. In 2021, Schwarzenegger seemed to let his emotions get the better of him during a rant, including making comments highlighted by “screw your freedom.” Nearly two years later, the ex-bodybuilder addressed these comments. The COVID-19 pandemic saw many around the country take sides when it comes to safety and vaccination itself. The issue of masks also split the nation when it came to the impact and how they would actually stop the spread. When discussing this topic with CNN back in 2021, Schwarzenegger said “screw your freedom” to those who felt that masks curbed freedom.

Meh he's one of us but warped by living in CA, too much estrogen, and sharing a bed with a Kennedy. I'll give him a pass for at least apologizing, just like I hold it against him that he apologized for calling 0bama a "girly-man."

He didn't have to offer an apology two years later. He could have let sleeping dogs lie. I'll give him credit for that. He owned it like a man.

"I disagree" is easily forgivable, "screw your freedom" is not. I simply cannot forgive that he was willing to allow his fear to override my freedom, especially with just an "I'm sorry".

Get out and say not only that you were wrong, but talk about why it was wrong and urge others to learn from your mistake.

Everyone has their right to come back and apologize. In fact, it should be encouraged more.

instead these fools keep double downing on their comments because they refuse to accept that they may have been wrong.

That's where I am. He's not taking the easy road, he's taking the less easy road, but still, there is nothing to be gained except offering an olive branch and an apology. I can see someone, especially a guy like that, saying too much in an emotional fervor. We've all been there.

He said he should have communicated better. For his apology to have meaning, he needs to communicate better right now what he meant, what he believes now, why he said what he said, and what he would say or do differently now.
