Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus Actually Might Have Helped the Military Capture Saddam Hussein
They were booked by the DoD to play concerts for the troops.

"Sir, I have a plan for how to catch Saddam Hussein," the musician recalled telling a Navy admiral onboard an aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf. According to Hoppus, Hussein had been sending video messages to his followers from an unknown location at the time.
The musician felt that the military could use drones to their advantage and uncover his location by pulling data from the video messages. "Sir, what about having drones fly all over the region in carpeting patterns, broadcasting time codes above the level of human hearing but at the level that a video recording would catch it," Hoppus suggested to the admiral.
"Then, the next time he releases one of his videos, you can listen to it, pull the ultrasonic data, and triangulate the drones you have flying all over."
The Blink-182 frontman remembered the admiral seeming "genuinely taken aback," and that he mentioned he may share it when he met with the Joint Chiefs of Staff the following week.
"Four months later, Saddam was located and captured in Iraq. So, you're welcome everyone," Hoppus noted.

I hope this is true. Definitely an awesome story.

lol. That dude definitely did not help locate Saddam but that’s a great story to tell.

This dude helped capture Saddam almost as much as I did.
See, in 1991/1992 I put some stuff in the dessert between Saudi and Iraq. I’m sure that equipment was as instrumental in Saddam’s capture as this dude’s idea.

Likely wasn’t the thing that caught SH but nonetheless still a good idea… especially for that time

Right, that’s the real kernel of the post.
Lot’s of negative nancys in this thread though.
If I removed any reference to Hoppus or Blink182, they’d be saying “wow that’s amazing”

And Tom Delonge, Blink’s guitarist, forced the DOD to disclose proof of UFO’s.
Alright Travis Barker, what are you gonna do?

I dug the hole he was hiding in. One call to my good buddy W and it was all over for Mr. Hussein.

Invaded on known lies (cia), spent a trillion dollars and 25,000 Iraqi's for the invasion based on lies.
There's nothing to be proud of and the war mongers are trying it again.
